It was a cold night, a storm was coming in which always dropped the temperature down. You shivered as you made your way down the sidewalk holding your arms and rubbing them to keep warm. A group of men followed you thinking you hadn't noticed, which you had. They were loud and probably drunk, you could smell the cheap liquor on their breath from a mile away. They yelled, cheered, and even whistled from behind you shouting obscenities and even cat-calling you. Finally you were fed up and whipped around to face the group who howled when they saw your face.
"What the hell is your problem?" You questioned glaring at the men who shot their hands up in defense.
"Woah there pretty lady, don't be mad. We just wanted to let you know we think you're hot. C'mon, why don't you give us a smile?" Anger boiled through your veins at those words, but a sinister smile appeared on your face.
"I'll do you one better, how bout I shove my foot up your ass. Then we'll see how much you want me to smile." The group of men laughed at your remark, some even continued to howl with joy.
"Fiesty, I like that," Said the main man of the group.
"But I doubt a pretty lady like you could get a hit in edge wise." Now it was your turn to laugh, you crossed your arms shifting weight from one foot to the other.
"And I'll bet I can knock you on your ass faster then you can call for mommy." You stated with a smirk, his group laughed at him, but his face contorted into a scowl.
"You little bitch." He growled lunging towards you, to which you ducked and kicked a foot out sweeping his legs out from under him. The group looked astonished and so did he for a moment. Until the astonishment grew into anger.
"The hell are you idiots looking at?! You see what she just did to me? Get her!!" The group of drunks nodded at their precious leader before beginning to run after you. Causing you to bolt as quickly as you could away from them, which wasn't hard. They were a group of middle aged drunk men, and you were fairly young and well-- sober. You ran as fast as you could escaping the men who stopped to rest wheezing from distances far behind you. Suddenly you slammed face first into someone and began to fall back. A tight arm gripped around your waist before you could hit the ground. There stood a gruff looking man with dark curly hair and dark circled eyes. He was admittedly very attractive, but had a certain tough feeling about him.
"Sorry," was the only thing you managed to say as he pulled you up towards him.
"You got somewhere to be?" He questioned his New York accent ringing through his throat.
"No, I mean, no where in particular." You stated still trying to catch your breath from running. He raised an eyebrow at you as the men slowly started approaching you again.
"Hey! Don't touch her she's ours!!" The main one shouted now rubbing his back in pain. The man-- who still had a tight grip on you let out a chuckle his expression showing no sign of joy.
"Yours-? I don't see your name on er." He stated removing his hand from around you before stepping forward to glare at the men.
"Well, we saw her first." Stated one of them as the group slowly began to back away from him. The man turned back towards you looking down to make eye contact with a sour expression.
"You know these fuckers?" He questioned scrunching his nose, to which you shook your head.
"No, they're drunk they tried cat-calling me but I knocked," you pointed to the man rubbing his lower back with a glare.
"That guy flat on his ass earlier. Then they started chasing me." The man in front of you let out a laugh, smiling widely as he turned to the group of men his expression changed back into a scowl.
"So what, you're mad cus she taught you a lesson?" He questioned cracking his knuckles
"I think I have one or two lesson to teach you myself." The group began backing away frantically, drunkly stumbling before running in the opposite direction. The man turned on his heels to face you again with a cheeky grin.
"You alright?" He questioned not too worried as he really already knew the answer.
"Yea," you chuckled "Who the hell are you?" He stuck his hand out for yours with a smirk.
"Jake, c'mon let me buy you a drink."
