[Word Count:1207]Khonshu, the god of the moon, the protector of not only you but many others. Although his means of protecting weren't always legal, they helped more people then they hurt. Today, however, they hurt you, he.. hurt you. He was leaving, breaking your contract for good, never to return to aid you. This made you more upset then you had ever been in your life, all you wanted to know what, why?
"Because, my star, I can't risk you getting hurt anymore." His long arm reached down placing a tend hand under your chin.
"Don't pull that shit on me. You and I both know if you stay I can't get hurt!" He sighed, although you couldn't see his expression you knew it was a frustrated one.
"Not if they place me into stone, then they'll come for you. You'll die. I cannot let that happen." You scoffed trying to hold back your tears, as you turned your gaze away from him.
"You just wanna find someone stronger." He let out an astonished laugh bending down to see you better.
"That is far from true and you know it." Moving a hand towards you that you quickly swatted away he stood, an almost solemn look good be made out. Crossing your arms you turned away from him again not wanting to see when he left.
"Just got then. It doesn't matter anymore." He tried to slink around in a caring manner but you moved away.
"Starlight.."
"Just. Go. The less I have to see you the better." His face while not explicitly seen, seemed almost as he stripped his power from you. This sent you to the ground, leaving you grasping for air. You hoped you'd never have to see him again, although being away from him made you feel.. naked. You hated him, and always would.
Months afterIt had been a while since Khonshu had left you, your mind had been so silent since then it made you shutter. You were never the type that particularly liked being alone. The feeling of loneliness always made you uneasy, but at this point you'd rather had no one then him. He infuriated you, for leaving, for not protecting you, for not warning you of what was to come. You thought surely he'd come crawling back, but he never did. Not like you wanted him to, you couldn't care less of course. Today, however, felt off, you chest twinged with pain as if something was wrong, as if something was off balance. The feeling stuck with you all day until the familiar bird like god appeared in the room of your home like he had before. You were frazzled to say the least, if not a little scared.
"What are you doing here?" He slowly moved closer causing you to back away stopping him in his tracks.
"I wanted to make sure you were ok." Confusion filled your face as the burning sensation in you chest continued. Sensing the pain he walked closer outstretching his hand for yours.
"What so you want?" He retracted his hand at your question, fear rose in you as he did so.
"Khonshu what's going on?" He looked away as if he sensed something in the distance. Your eyes followed his but of course you had no idea why he was gazing in that direction.
"Please, be careful, I won't lose you today." Was all he stated before disappearing without a trace. It wasn't until later in the day that you knew what he was talking about. The sky filled with purple bursts of light that shot into the sky. People below fled as others ran towards them with open arms, 'judging' them. In the distance a large crocodile or maybe alligator goddess stood fighting Khonshu who you could still feel keeping an eye on you. A knock rang from your door startling you from your racing thoughts. Slowly you walked to your door grabbing a wooden bat you had sitting beside hour bed.
"Who is it?" You questioned reading your bat as the handle of your door jimmyed.
"Y/N L/N? I'm- we're here to help." You gave a fake laugh gripping your bat tighter then before.
"Oh yea? Why should I believe you?" Silence rang through the room for a few moments before whoever hid behind the door cleared their throat.
"Khonshu sent us." You eyes widened as you hurried to open the door your bat still in hand. Low and behold there stood a man wrapped in a suit similar to yours when you were the avatar. You scanned the area with a confused expression looking for the other person.
"Us?" The man shook his head the wrap around his face revealing an almost frazzled expression.
"Listen it's a little hard to explain but if you see this suit." He motioned to what he currently wore.
"Its Marc, you see," a change in suit appearance and mannerisms of the human underneath occurred.
"This suit, it's Steven." The man stated a friendly face and British accent present as he did so.
"Now, we need to go, if that's alright with you?" He questioned the mask forming back over his face as he lead you from your home. Reluctantly you followed him closely, gripping the bat in your hand as tightly as you could. At the end of your stairwell you found a beautiful woman with curly hair. She too seemed to be someone's avatar but you couldn't quite pinpoint who's. The two of them almost formed a barrier around you making sure you were safe. In the distance you couldn't help but watch as Khonshu fought, every once in a while you got the feeling he noticed. Despite your hatred towards him for leaving you couldn't help but hope he would win. You did your best to help fight the good fight but there was only so much you could do with a flimsy wooden bat. Eventually they got who they were looking for and the fight was over, you were eager to speak with Khonshu once more.
The two of the completed their ritual and by the end of it Khonshu seemingly left Marc and Steven. Appearing sheepishly in front of you with a flimsy flower held out in front of him. You placed your hands on your hips glaring up at him, although you couldn't stay mad for long.
"Dear Starlight, please will you take me back?" He questioned lightly placing a hand under your chin so you'd face him. He took your hand placing the flower in it.
"Why should I?" He seemed taken aback by this question.
"You left me, for months without so much as a word. I hated you!! You're so infuriating, seriously!!" Anger boiled within you, but it didn't last for long. As much as you'd hate to admit it, you missed him, dearly. You loved him, and always would.
