"I wish I saw the signs"
"I wish they told me"
"How could I have not seen they were struggling,
Suffering"
You do
You see all of it
Yet, you try to ignore it
Thinking, rationalizing
"They would never do that"
"I raised them better than that"
Do you?
Then, how could you ignore the signs?
They try to tell you
You do not listen
They tried to reach out for help
They should "just keep their mouths shut"
"Why would you go and tell others your business?"
"How dare you?"
No!
How dare you?!?
I need help...
"Nothing is wrong with you"
"It's all in your mind,"
"Keep it all to yourself"
"You're being negative,"
"You're always negative"
"Be positive for a change..."
"You talk too much"
You see the signs
You always see the signs.
It's right there in your face.
This is what they get.
They try to hold on
Even though they feel like a burden
You'll cry when they're gone
Regret not helping them sooner
But, by then
It'll be too late even
To do anything
Anything, at all.
This was like an almost rant. I don't know, I've been thinking about what people feel, or what they go through, to want to do something like that. I've been wondering if there were signs people miss or if it's abrupt? And the judgement that they face...which somehow only comes about once they've already transitioned in to the afterlife and how people don't believe them until it actually happens.

PoetrySometimes, written words are a way to release thoughts that you'd never have the courage to say out loud to others. Real and true poetry. These are free-verse because, sometimes, feelings are so raw that they're not meant to rhyme, and that's okay!
