Dealing with Chaos

The Ascent

Annabeth POV:

At first I was shocked, why would someone ever turn down the chance to become an Olympian, even Piper forgot about Jason for  a brief moment and looked at Percy in shock. 

But then I realised why he had done it, once again he had put others before himself and tried to make the world a better place for gods, demigods and titans as well. 

That's when the ground started shaking, suddenly what felt like an immensely powerful presence entered through a ripple in the middle of the throne room, the Olympians bowed so everyone decided to follow their lead. 

The being then turned towards Percy and started talking to him, my mother looked like she was saying something, it all felt like a blur, i could see but not quite make out everything, and I certainly couldn't take part in it, it felt as if I was trying to go against the tide.

Then the presence held her hand out towards Percy and that's when I could finally make out what she was saying. "Perseus Achilles Jackson, I Chaos the Creator bestow upon you the title of Archangel of Chaos, you will carry out my will and rid the Universe of the oncoming threat."

Suddenly Percy was absorbed in black, blue and purple mist and shot through the throne room doors  with a hypersonic boom until we couldn't see him anymore.

So I shouted the first thing that came to mind. "PERCY!"

3rd  person POV:

"PERCY!" Annabeth screamed, and suddenly everyone turned to look at the throne room doors with a Percy sized hole in them.

Annabeth then turned towards Chaos and shouted "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HIM!" Chaos looked perplexed, she turned towards Annabeth "That shouldn't have happened, I never make mistakes, that means it's worse than I thought. I'm sorry but I have to restrain him even more, I don't think I'll be able to take a physical form for a long time."

"What do you mean, what's worse than you thought?" Annabeth asked.

"I'm going to have to make it quick because Order is getting stronger by the second but, basically I made Percy my Champion. That means he will be the only person able to take down my brother." Chaos explained

"So Order is the threat, but why can't you deal with him, you are the most powerful being after all." Athena pointed out.

"I am, but almost all my power is being used in keeping the Universe running, you see, in the beginning it was me and Order that kept the Universe running, but then he went crazy so I created the Void to imprison him, and now somehow he's managed to crack the dimension and is slowly coming back, and since now I have to take care of the Universe all on my own the only thing I thought I could do was slow him down and get my Champion ready to fight him. But he is more powerful than expected, so I can only slow him down. Percy will have to find a way to train his new powers on his own." Chaos answered.

"And another extremely important thing is that he won't be able to reach his full potential without dying." she continued

"What!?" Annabeth screamed "Well then I won't let him reach it! I'm not letting him die!"

"Unless he balances his powers with love, it's the only thing that can keep Chaos power under control, but since he's so powerful one person's love will not be enough, he will need more, and Fate has already decided who." said Chaos 

"SO YOU'RE SAYING THAT YOU GAVE PERCY A POWER WITHOUT HIS PERMISSION AND THAT POWER MEANS THAT I HAVE TO SHARE HIM!!!!!" Annabeth was now in full rage mode

"Be respectful, daughter of Athena, you're talking to the Creator." Poseidon intervened.

"It's okay, I can understand her feelings, but it his necessary for the safety of the Universe, and as for his permission, it wouldn't have changed anything for he is the only person who can hold the title of Archangel of Chaos." Chaos explained

"Why? Why does it always have to be him, we just want a peaceful life!" Annabeth was now starting to cry, her emotions now completely out of control.

"I'm sorry little one but it had to be him because he is the only truly selfless person in the Universe, therefore the only one other than me to be able to hold Chaos power and use it for good, without it corrupting him"

"I think.. I think I understand, this is going to get complicated." 

"Indeed. I have to go, any longer and Order will break free. Now I strongly recommend to bring Percy to Apollo's Temple, he isn't in the best of conditions. Goodbye and good luck my children!" And with that she vanished through the same ripple she had come through.

"Where's Percy?! What did she mean by 'Not in the best of conditions'?" Annabeth asked while glaring at Apollo.

"You won't like it, Annie." Apollo said.

Percy POV:

As I woke up, the only thing I could feel was pain, a lot of it. It felt like I had been dipped in the Styx a hundred times and then forgotten me in the waters.

I opened my eyes and found myself in a nectar and seawater tank, what had happened to me that needed such drastic measures? I tried to move, big mistake, a shooting pain through all my body caused me to scream,  but my throat didn't like that and what came out was a raspy wheeze that caused even more pain.

I looked at what I could and immediately recognised Apollo's temple, from all of the blinding gold everywhere.

"He's awake, call lord Apollo now!" I heard, and ten seconds later a bright light enveloped the room.

"PERCY!" a familiar voice called.
