Bigger problems

Annabeth POV:

I was about to reveal my plan when a sleepy Piper stumbled out of the bedroom.

"Don't tell her about anything that's happening, she doesn't need to know! She's already unstable." I whispered to the others.

"Hey Piper how's it going, I suggest you sleep a bit more, you were very tired after , you know.. Yesterday."

"What!?" Thalia looked shocked "Already!? Without waiting for Percy!?"

"Wha.. NO, NO! You got it all wrong! It's just that yesterday, Piper was having some ..trouble.. Sleeping. You know after the whole.. Jason thing..!" I hurriedly rectified.

"Ooooh, right, him...." Thalia said with venom in her voice.

After the incident she completely broke bonds with her brother, as did all the campers. He had become an outcast from CHB.

"Hey, Annie, what's going on? I overheard something about Percy.."

"N.. Nothing's going on, we.. we were just thinking about his birthday, it's coming up and we wanted to make the best party possible for Seaweed brain!"

"Great, I'll.. join you later, I'm going to meet Cal." she said before walking out of the cabin.

"She doesn't look too well..." Artemis pointed out.

"Yeah.. she's been having a real tough time, being a daughter of Aphrodite her emotions are amplified. She only talks to me, Bianca, Calypso and Silena." I explained.

"Whew.. well the only thing we can do right now is try to do everything we can to save Percy."

"Right.. About that, here's my plan..."

Tartarus POV:

I was enjoying it, madly. This was the most fun I have had in eons!

At a certain point I hit a nerve on his back and long, majestic black wings shot out. I tried to cut them off but I couldn't, it seemed as if they were indestructible.

So I decided to rip them out.

The screams.. The soundless screams were music to my ears.

I decided to take another break. Torturing such a powerful being was incredibly tiring, his aura flared every time I hurt him and it was starting to take a toll on me.

As I exited the dungeon to breathe in the rancid air of my realm, I felt a presence enter it.

I immediately flew over to the anomaly to find that it was just a hellhound, quite a big one too.

But something felt off. Nevermind it must have been the fact that I was tired, my senses weren't as sharp as before.

That's when I got a mental call from the Old One.

Perseus would have to wait.

3rd person POV:

Annabeth and the others had managed to sneak past Tartarus by sending Mrs. O'leary and using their combined power to hide their presence until they reached the palace.

Once inside the building they were surprised to not find anyone inside.

Where was Tartarus?

They immediately tried to find Percy with their emotional link. Nothing was working until Artemis and Zoe picked up a faint response. It was coming from the deepest part of the building.

It might have been a trap but it was the only trace they found so they left Zoe and Artemis and Bianca to guard the entrance and the rest all went down, careful with every step they were taking.
