The next day, I had the girls all gather in front of the office early in the morning in sportswear. I myself looked like a track coach, complete with dad cap and sunglasses.
"Alright, you all ready to get your jog in? It's not gonna be an easy feat. With how short of a window we have before our debut, we cannot afford to baby step our way through this." I look among them, all of them with different degrees of determination.
"How far are we going, Producer?" Ahri asked, being the mouthpiece for her team.
"Oh you know, Hanabi Central and back." I told them, to which they all realized the distance I'm making them go.
"Hanabi...are you sure that isn't too far?" Ahri questionably narrowed her eyes, a small hint of timidity in them.
"It could be worse, I could be timing you all. But this is necessary to make sure you all are in tip top shape." I then look to Ahri, handing her a sticky note with my phone number on it. "Take my phone just in case. I'll be waiting for you girls in Hanabi Central Park."
Taking the sticky note, Ahri pocketed it before making sure her pony tail was nice and tight, "Alright. Let's go girls!"
With that, the girls all took off down the street. I tossed my keys in my hand and went over to my car.
...
As the run went on, all the girls stayed in a uniform line. Kai'Sa lead in the front with Ahri in the middle respectively. Akali and Evelynn however lagged a bit behind, sweat visibly dripping on their faces.
"Come on everyone, let's keep it up!" Kai'Sa encouraged her teammates, visibly enthusiastic about their run as she glanced behind.
"Let's go you two, you gotta stay close!" Ahri looked back as the last two were about a dozen feet behind them. Both she and Kai'Sa started running backwards to attend to them.
"I really need to stop drinking late at night..." Evelynn commented as she panted, Ahri taking her arm over her shoulders.
"Jesus...what kind of hell is the Producer putting us through?" Akali whined as Kai'Sa helped her by also grabbing her arm and putting it over her shoulders. Together the four women ran up a hill, the morning Sun beginning to beam down on them.
"Oh no...move move MOVE!" Evelynn pushed herself off of Ahri, her legs suddenly bringing her to a pace far ahead as she walked over to a nearby garbage bin and hurled the contents of her stomach into it. For a solid ten seconds she puked up whatever it was that made her sick, her quaint life of drinking off the job coming back to firmly bite her in the ass...with a vengeance.
Ahri rubbed her back soothingly, trying to comfort her as she dry heaved. Evelynn's already pale skin somehow seemed even paler, as she turned to the other two who were waiting for them.
"Let's take a small break...." Ahri suggested quietly, the two remaining girls nodding as they all took said break under the canopy of a closed shop. By then, Evelynn had recovered from her puking fit, but she still seemed very much sick and was suffering from the after effects.
"Here Eve....drink some water." Kai'Sa offered her bottle that she brought with her, her friend taking it with a quiet nod as she began to drink and spit out the taste of vomit from her mouth. Only after did she actually start hydrating. "Girls, do you feel like this is too much? I mean I understand that the Producer wants what's best for us but...this feels more like we're being forced to run track instead of physical training."
