Bravery of the Eril (Aleanna's upgrade)

(We round out the upgrade chapters with our dear inexperienced leader).

Aleanna groaned as she was helped up by Liza. "You ok?" Asked Liza. "Yeah... you?" Asked Aleanna. "Course I am" added Liza. The duo looked around in worry seeing they were in a strange forest like place. "Strange location" added Liza. Aleanna stood close to Liza in worry. "I'm scared" added Aleanna.

Liza comforted Aleanna before they started walking off. "Let's see what we can find" added Aleanna. Liza nodded as the duo started to investigate the forest area. Aleanna whimpered feeling hesitant as well. Liza though was worried if things were ok with her partner. Meanwhile a strange new version of JC stood waiting in the wings. "d̶i̶g̶ i̶ m̶a̶x̶ n̶e̶v̶e̶r̶ k̶n̶e̶w̶ i̶ w̶a̶s̶ t̶h̶e̶ r̶e̶a̶l̶ d̶a̶r̶k̶ e̶g̶o̶ o̶f̶ j̶c̶, b̶u̶t̶ t̶h̶e̶y̶'r̶e̶ n̶o̶t̶ h̶e̶r̶e̶ s̶o̶ t̶i̶m̶e̶ t̶o̶ h̶a̶v̶e̶ s̶o̶m̶e̶ f̶u̶n̶" he said. He sent the glitch beasts with him to go after Aleanna and Liza.

The two women seemed to seek info in this one clearing of the forest. "Ok you're not looking confident whatsoever" added Liza stopping Aleanna. Aleanna winced hearing how stern, but worried Liza was. "Want to talk about it?" She asked sitting down. Aleanna sighed looking away. "I don't know if I feel ready" she said. "Ready?" Asked Liza. The duo heard something before Aleanna could explain what she meant.

The duo looked around hearing the noises. "Uhh...." Started Aleanna. Liza got up frowning. They saw a few glitch beasts approach making them gasp. "Run" added Liza. Aleanna and Liza immediately took off to escape the beasts with the creatures following behind. "We're not fighting them?" Asked Aleanna. "Girl I will fight them after we finish our discussion" added Liza with a bit of sass.

The duo were able to find a place to hide and heard their persuers pass. Liza then faced Aleanna. "Well, I'm waiting" she said. Aleanna sighed looking down. "I don't feel ready because I'm shoved into this position when I started off on the opposing side...as did you" she said. "We aren't like Alexia and her team, it's the two of us, a former spy with a new partner, and 3 duos of rookies" added Aleanna. She sat down hugging herself. "And the pressure is put on us to guide the group".

Liza came over and sat with Aleanna. "Hey, look at me" she said. Aleanna did as she said sniffling a bit. "Listen, you're right, the two of us did start off the enemy, but it was against our wills". "I know we're not Digimax, but you don't need to hide in Alexia's shadow". "I see you compare yourself to her more then believe in yourself". "Aleanna....you were the one who spotted that something was wrong the moment Nikita disappeared into her computer" explained Liza. "But...I tried calling Alexia, with no luck" added Aleanna.

Liza was getting an idea to the feelings. "You relied on her a lot" she said. Aleanna sighed and nodded. "Hey....then you need to consider a new option" added Liza. Aleanna was confused a bit. "Become a leader that Alexia would want you to be". "Despite our brainwashing...you did see that Bri did the same for Alexia's friend Anika aka Bri's little sister right?". Aleanna thought it over and remembered it well before nodding.

"Become a leader that Alexia would want you to be, don't stay in her shadow" added Liza. Aleanna stood up looking at Liza. "I should, thank you...shall we?" She asked. Liza smiled getting up. "Let's go get those beasts" stated Aleanna. The duo went to find the beasts before seeing them with a clown like male. "JC?" Asked Liza quietly. Aleanna thought over the situation.

Aleanna got an idea. "Liza split game start" she whispered. Liza split looked confused taking control. "Ambush on them" added Aleanna. Liza Split grinned and made her move before attacking them all surprising the clown like JC too. She let out a harpy screech her wings unfurled. "wɑɳt ɑ ɱɑtcɦup?" Asked Liza Split grinning. They all went to attack Liza split.

She looked to Aleanna. "Give them hell!" Added Aleanna. Liza Split cheered and attacked all of them. She then posed facing the clown JC. He didn't even risk attacking and took off while Liza split and Aleanna noticed they got upgrades and both had harpy armor together. "We match" added Aleanna. The two hugged each other cheering. "We better get going".

They found the portal and jumped through to locate everyone and reunite.
