June 7, 2015It's official, Spencer hasn't been invented for mornings at all, especially early mornings.
He will only wake up early for two simple things, money and something important.
Today that something important happens to be Jai.
His manager's son, his crush, his soulmate.
Well, not a romantic soulmate since Jai might not even like men in the first place.
His half-opened eyes stare at his reflection in the mirror, his caramel-colored hair ruffled and skin paler from the chilly air that sticks to his body.
Spencer crinkles his nose before doing his morning routine while still trying to understand why he's not sleeping in until the afternoon on a Sunday.
Who the freak schedules a non-date but maybe a date at nine a.m?
On a Sunday?
Yeah, they're grabbing coffee but people drink coffee throughout the day as well, he doesn't see why they couldn't go for lunch.
At a later hour.
Ugh, stop complaining and brush your teeth.
Someone, aka, dreadfully morning person Aurora knocks on the bathroom door. "Hurry up, Spencer! I need to pee!"
He rolls his eyes.
Another knock sounds at the door.
"Woman, I am brushing my teeth as fast as I can!" he shouts at her with a mouthful of toothpaste, accidentally spraying some on the white counter.
After he washes his mouth and the counter, he splashes cold water onto his face to revive his brain and opens the door as he dries himself with his oversized graphic t-shirt.
And Aurora nearly knocks him onto the wall when she rushes in and shoos him out.
While Aurora gets ready for whatever the heck she's going to do today, Spencer cooks up breakfast, a full English with strawberry jam on her toast for her sweet tooth.
He researched different types of foods from England when they first moved here to feel less like Americans and not stick out like a sore thumb.
Even though they always do because of their accent and slang and everything.
When Aurora appears in the kitchen, she sits at the table and smiles at the warm breakfast with a glass of orange juice in front of her.
Pastel blue checkered plate cloths adorning the table, the theme changing nearly every week whenever Aurora likes another set in the store.
Or a new rug, a small plant to go on the already crowded fireplace that will probably die in a week, or a batch of matching Tupperware.
Useless knickknacks that bring life to their house.
But he wouldn't change a thing, maybe complain a little but nothing serious.
