Intruder In The Werewolf World.

Part VIII

It's been few weeks since I'm working in the coffee shop, everything is going great. I spend most time of the day working. I think I like it here, specially Thobias, he's been such a great friend, he showed me the best places in the city, he even made a list of places I must go, so every Saturday after work we walk around somewhere.

It is Sunday and it's my day off, I'm getting ready to go to a picnic with Sandra and dad, I've been delaying it for weeks now, I like my job but it can be tiring.
The time is starting to warm up here, the flowers are starting to bloom, I believe this is what made Sandra think of a picnic. I wear a cropped blouse and my new jeans I just bought last week and some cute flip flops, I run downstairs to meet the others.

"I'm ready to go dad, is everything done?"
My dad was caring some of the stuffs to the car.  " yes we're all good to go. We have so much to eat, it was kind of your friend to let you prepare all this delicious food for our picnic".

"Yes!" Sandra says with her mouth full of cookies. "You should have invited him, we would like to know this famous Thobias"

I roll my eyes and laugh without saying anything. We get to the car and daddy drives to Saint Mary park. It is huge, double the size of the parks back home, everything so green and the wind so fresh, it reminds me home.
We're all set, and the picnic is just great, we're sitting next to the lake and Sandra feeding the ducks that are swimming.

"I'm glad you and Sandra are starting to have a better relation"
My dad says putting his arm around my neck, without taking his eyes off of Sandra.

"Pregnancy made her chill, and more bearable" I joked , leaning my head on my dad's shoulder. "  Apart from that, I think the job is distracting me, and I love it there, baking reminds me of mom, every time I bake I feel closer to her".

Dad turn and look me in the eyes " You know your mother is always taking care of us from above, and she loves us from there. Nina, you know nobody is ever going to replace your mom, never."
I feel my eyes tearing, I just nod and I hug him.  A third pair of arms join us, and we open space for Sandra to join us.

Later that Sunday I called my best friend Julia and we talked about the past and how we miss each other. Julia and her boyfriend have been spending time together, they are even planning on travelling to where they want, I hope she passes by.

"Nina, it's been a while you are talking about Thobias, is anything going on between you too and you didn't tell me?"

"Julia, me and him are coworkers, and we're becoming friends that's all. He is cute I won't lie, but we're just friends."

"Yeah yeah, but you know you could change that, from what you're telling me, I think he is into to you."

"I don't think so. Anyway I don't think a guy like him isn't occupied."

"Maybe. What about that other hot guy you met at the airport? What was his name?"

My heart race for a moment, its been a while since I last saw Noah, after what happened at his place I'm hoping I never see him again.

"Noah. Well we just bumped into each other few times, we were never that close. I don't think I'll ever see him again."

"Well, that's sad. But since Thob is around I believe you'll be out of the market soon. Now I got to go, my babe is here and we're going to that chic restaurant I always wanted to go."

"I'm jealous. But Julia we went there together once."

"Yes, but I always wanted to go with a boy, something romantic."

"Fine, you have fun there. I love you".

I hang up, and lay on my bed falling asleep fast.
By Monday 6:30 A.M, I'm standing in front of the coffee shop with Thobias.
"Good morning Nina, you're always on time, I like that."

"Morning Thobias, well  the baking won't happen on its own, and soon I know customers will come to have their coffee."

Thobias smile down on me, and we enter the shop. By 7 am I've baked most part of the cookies. While I wait for those in the oven to get ready, I go to the reception to help Thobias getting everything ready, in 15 minutes we would open.  As soon as we open people start coming in and placing their orders. Martha is also there helping us to note down all the orders.
The oven rings, and I run to the kitchen to take the cookies out.  When suddenly a familiar aroma reach me. Martha calls me out to take more cookies to the reception.
I feel sick and dizzy, I know who it was, I don't want to prove myself right. Martha calls again, and I rush to the reception.
When I get there, the scent gets stronger and stronger, but Noah is not there, I breath in relief, I look out at the door and I see the chauffeur, I instantly recognise him, and at the back of the car, I see him, Noah. Why do I feel like this when Noah is around?

" He is handsome right? He's also son of the wealthiest family in the city, they literally own the city."

"What, who are you talking about?" I ask without looking at Martha. Every second I stare at him, memories of that afternoon replay in my head.

"I'm talking about Noah Rothbon, You're drooling by the way."
I see Noah's car driving away, and I turn to look at Martha who is staring at me. I laugh and I walk back to the kitchen without saying anything.
