By the time I got home, Sandra and dad were in the kitchen arguing, they stoped as soon they saw me entering.
Dad runs to me and hugs me. I hug him back because the pain I'm feeling is stronger than anything right now.

"My sweetheart, please let me explain, I don't want you to leave, we don't want you to leave."

"Nina, I'm sorry, I didn't mean all that. I just think that it would be good for you, to have something to do."

Sandra comes near us and touch my shoulder. I sink deeper in my dad's arms, crying harder remembering everything that happened.

"I miss my mom, I miss home, I miss my friends. I want to go home, everything is different and strange. Can't we go back dad, please?"

"I miss your mom and our home too, things seems to be hard now, but give it a chance, you'll see it will be better."

My dad hugs me tighter and then let me go to wipe my tears.
My phone vibrates, it's Julia. I rush to my room.
I tell Julia what happened with Sandra, not saying a thing about the incident with Noah.

"Sandra is such a bitch, I knew I was right hating her. But Nina, maybe she's right. Maybe having something to do will be good to you. Think of it."

"Julia, what will I do? Anyway, I don't know this place, where would I find a job here?"

"Well, that would be a great chance to know the city. And meet boys, maybe you'll find the mysterious Noah again."

I cold wave travel my body remembering what happened earlier.

"Well, I'll think of it. Now let me sleep a little, my head is killing me."

We say our  goodbyes. I shut my eyes and lay on my bed falling in a deep sleep.

Waking up in the middle of the night from a dream; well I'd call it a nightmare.
Though what happened with Noah was a mistake and ended badly, I couldn't help myself and think of it.
I was stupid, I barely know him, how could I allow him to do all that with me.

I push that thought away grabbing my computer to look for a job. I'm instantly suggested a website that displays literally everywhere hiring people in the city.

Modeling, nah, my body doesn't fit their demands. Next, manager, they definitely need a certain school degree for this. Anyway I can't even manage my life, how could I manage a whole company.
Let me see something related to food.
Professional chief needed, I can cook and bake but I'm not professional.

This is harder then I thought it'd be, everything needs people that went to university. I hate big cities.

Almost giving up, I see something that would work for me. A vacancy in a coffee shop. They are implementing cakes, and biscuits in the menu, and they don't need a professional baker. This shall work.

I note down the address, I'll go there in the morning to see it better.
I close the computer and sleep again.

In that morning I wake up almost excited. I check my phone and dads message on the screen.

*Darling, we left early, Sandra had an appointment with the doctor, we will be back at the end of the day. I made you some eggs and salad. Please eat something. Love you.*

I reply with a thumb up and heart emoji. I climb out of the bed, and walk to the bathroom to take the longest warm bath, I comb my hair and tie it up in a ponytail.

Since is theoretically a job interview, maybe I should wear something formal.
I turn my closet up and down, but I don't find anything formal, just hoodies, skinny jeans, shorts. I never needed such clothes.
I decide then to wear a pale blue skinny jeans, and a white t-shirt with a muffin on it. It shall call their attention. I put on my sneakers and run downstairs, my ponytail hitting my back.
I quickly eat the breakfast dad made me and call a taxi to pick me up.

As we enter the center of the city, huge buildings emerge, people rushing from one side to the other apparently late to wherever they are going.
Everything is so enormous, beautiful and sophisticated, in other circumstances I would have easily fallen in love with this city.
The traffic can be so bad in the mornings, but the taxi driver said he knew calm shortcuts, and since I'm going to an avenue full companies.
As we reach the avenue, everything becomes calmer, less people walking around, and everybody dressed like they we're going an important meeting.

"We are here miss."
The taxi driver says as he stops in front of the coffee shop. It is a huge building with glass doors and wooden floor and tables.
I enter the coffee shop amazed by how sophisticated it is, I walk straight to the balcony to a handsome, tall, honied skin, and perfect white smile man.

" Let me guess, a Latte for you?"

He says looking directly to me, with smily eyes, if that makes any sense. He smell like coffee and milk, he's emerald green eyes sparkled as he spoke, he's short hair dark and shinny.

"I'm a cappuccino type of coffee" I say returning a shy smile. "I would love to have it, but I'm here for the job vacancy".

"Oh, you can bake"? He says with an awe tone. "We are going to work together then, if your baking is as good as you look, you'll stay."

"Yes I can, my mom made sure I become a good baker. But why are you assuming that I'll stay, I bet many other great candidates came along"

"Many came indeed, but they were not good at all. I'm Thobias Kanvedish, the coffee maker and bartender, Martha and Sam should be here anytime. And you're....?" He looks at me waiting for me to say anything.

"Hilson, Nina Hilson, is good to meet you. I hope I'm accepted, so that I can meet the others. So where should I go?"

"The kitchen is this way, let me show you. You'll be cooking few receipts we would like to implement, then the manager and me, will try your cakes"

"That sounds easy, let's get to work."

Few hours later I'm done with everything.  I got to meet Martha and Sam, and they are really great people, I think I will like to work here if I'm accepted. I cut some cake and cookies to present to the manager.
Thobias and Mike the manager tried what I prepared, without any second opinion they simple accepted me in the coffee shop. In the same day Thobias and I sit and list down everything I'll need to prepare the cookies, in his break time we went out to buy everything that was missing. I also suggested some receipts I think would be a great success.
On my way home I called my dad to tell him the good news.
Sandra and Dad received me with hugs and smiles, congratulating me. But the greatest news that night were that the doctor told them a possible date Sandra would give birth, though it still had 6 months to go.
