"Thank you for hanging out with me today. I missed you a lot." Your cousin said as he held his arms open for a hug.

You happily gave him one, letting him hold onto you tightly.

For the first time in a long time, you finally spent some time with your cousin, who you haven't seen in the longest time.

Life has kept you both so busy since you're both adults now and with so much going on and so much stress, you haven't had any free time to hang out and catch up.

But you were so happy to finally hang out today, since you're practically best friends and missed each other lots.

Suddenly, the front door opened and you saw Jinni, your best friend, standing there.

"I'll see you soon." Your cousin smiled and pulled away. "Bye." He politely and kindly told Jinni, who just gazed at him in confusion.

You've been best friends for a couple of months, although you both secretly have feelings for each other.

"Hey, Jinni. I didn't know you'd be coming over today!" You smiled as you walked to her, closing the front door before trying to hug her.

But she pulled away before you got the chance.

You felt your heart sink deep in your chest.

She began to pace around the room, running her fingers through her long hair as she got lost deep in her thoughts.

"Jinni? Is everything alright?"

She turned to look at you, a shaky breath falling from her lips before she asked you a question you didn't expect to hear.

"Is that your boyfriend?"

You crinkled your nose in disgust at her question, for obvious reasons, before you started to laugh.

"What?"

"Is that guy your boyfriend?" She asked again. "Are you dating?"

"Why would you ask me something like that?" You giggled.

"Because I need to know!"

You frowned a little as you watched her teeth sink into her lip.

"I need to know so I can get over you."

"Get over me?" You asked, looking sorta hurt by those words.

"Yes! Because I'm in love with you and if you're dating someone, I need to know so I can move on. As hard as it would be."

Her words sank in and they made your heart flutter.

She was in love with you?

Oh... she was in love with you.

You slowly walked to her and Jinni swore her heart was going to burst out of her chest as you got closer and closer.

"Y/N?" She spoke softly as you put your hands on her shoulders, brushing your fingertips across her skin.

"That's not my boyfriend, Jinni. That's my cousin."

"Your cousin?"

Before she could say anything else, you put your lips on hers to bring her in for a sweet kiss.

It felt so surreal because you've both imagined this for so long and finally it was happening.

"I'm in love with you too." You said against her lips and she smiled into the next kiss.

"I've been hoping you'd say that for so long." She said and you just grinned and kissed her again.
