Jinni brushed her hand across your back as you rested your head on her shoulder and nervously stared down at your hand that rested on your lap.

Seeing that you've been so unusually quiet for the last few minutes, she looked down at you with a worried look in her eyes before wordlessly taking your hand into hers.

But you instantly pulled it out of her comforting grip before lifting your head off of her shoulder.

You continued to sit in silence and Jinni couldn't help but worry about what might be on your mind.

"Y/N, what's wrong?"

You didn't look at her until she cupped your cheek in her hand and turned it, making your eyes lock.

"There's something I've been wanting to talk to you about." You said quietly. "But I don't know how to say it."

"Okay, well, baby, you need to tell me about whatever it is because you're clearly bothered by it. So tell me, I'm right here to listen."

After you continued to stare at her with sad eyes and silence, she chuckled and shook her head before saying.

"Gosh, it's like you're trying to figure out how to tell me that you want to break up."

You nodded your head a couple of seconds later and the smile that was once on her face quickly fell.

"What?"

"I'm sorry, Jinni."

"You have to be joking." She said before she stared down at her hands.

They were so close to yours and she wanted so badly to grab them and hold them so tightly in her grip but she was too afraid that if you were serious, every touch would only make it harder to let you go.

"But..." She paused, almost at a loss for words. "I don't get it. Where's this coming from?"

"It's something I've been thinking about lately. I just don't know if things will work out between us."

"Why? They will. You know they will!"

You shrugged your shoulders as you struggled to look into her eyes.

She was starting to tear up over the thought of losing you forever.

She couldn't handle that, she just couldn't.

"Please don't." She sniffled as she put her hand on your leg. "I don't know what's causing this to come into your mind but I promise, I'll fix it. I can make it better."

"Jinni, baby, I just don't think it's working anymore."

"But it is!" She said as she did her best to hold herself together. "We're happy and in love and things are so good between us. We've been through so much together. I don't know why you'd want to just throw it all away."

You couldn't resist wiping away the tear that fell from her eye.

"Is someone saying that you need to break up with me? Did the company say something? Did someone find out and is threatening you somehow to break things off with me? Because if it's any of those three things, I'll take care of them myself."

"No, Jinni, it's not that. I promise." You said and fought back the urge to smile a little over how protective she is.

"Then tell me what it is. Because I can't lose you, darling. I can't do that. I'll do anything, just don't go."

You watched her continue to fall apart and it pained you too much to carry on.

And just like that, it was over.

"Okay. I'm not going anywhere, baby."

"You mean it?" She asked as her eyes lit up.

She wasn't sure what had changed your mind but she was so happy that it did.

"Yeah." You said as you took her hand into yours. "Truthfully, I wasn't going to break up with you. I was just pranking you."

"Oh..." She said as the sparkle in her eyes faded and a frown appeared on her lips. "Why?"

"Just to see your reaction."

"That's not very nice." She said as she looked down, feeling sad.

"I'm sorry. I crossed a line. I didn't think you'd cry. It hurt me too much to see you like that. It was wrong of me to do and I'm very sorry."

"You scared me a lot. I thought you were going to leave me."

You lifted her chin and then placed your forehead on hers when your eyes met.

"I'm never leaving you, Jinni. Not ever."

"Good. Because I love you and I meant it when I said that I can't lose you. I couldn't bear it."

"You won't ever have to because I'm never going to leave you. I love you too much."

She smiled brightly at you before giving you a sweet kiss.

"Okay. You're forgiven."

You put your arms around her and hugged her tightly.

"But you're not going to be off the hook just like that. I'm going to get my revenge on you someday soon, I swear it."

"Okay, I understand. I deserve it anyway."

"Yes, you do." She said before holding you a little tighter.
