you're sick

You groaned as you shifted around in bed, trying so hard to get comfortable so the ache in your stomach would ease.

It's almost eight in the morning and you woke up feeling a little unwell. Jinni woke up only a few minutes after you, the sound of your groans and the feeling of you restlessly moving around causing her to be pulled out of her slumber.

But she didn't mind at all.

You come first for her, especially right now.

Seeing you so miserable breaks her heart and she wants to help you somehow, but she doesn't know how to do that.

"Y/N, baby? Are you okay?"

You shook your head and sat up, suddenly starting to sweat a little as your stomach continued to become more upset.

"Let me feel your forehead, sweet girl. I need to know if you have a fever or not."

You didn't protest her touch as she scooted closer and gently placed her hand on your forehead.

"You're warm." She said before brushing her hand across your back.

"I think I might be sick." You said and started to get out of bed slowly, only to move much faster as your stomach turned and you knew you only had a few seconds before you were going to throw up.

You rushed into the bathroom and Jinni was behind you every step of the way.

As soon as you knelt down on the cold tiled floor and opened the toilet lid, you started to vomit.

Jinni was quick to gently pull your hair into her hand.

"It's okay, baby. Let it out, let it all out." She spoke softly and tried her very best to comfort you through it until you finished a couple of minutes later.

You closed your eyes and panted heavily to try and catch your breath as you closed the toilet lid once more and then weakly and shakily reached out to flush the toilet.

"There you go, baby. Do you feel better now?"

You shook your head and she breathed out a sad sigh.

"Can I do anything to help?"

"I don't know. I just want to brush my teeth and go back to bed."

"Okay. I'll help you." She said and helped you stand up from the floor before she walked to the sink with you.

She rubbed your back soothingly as you brushed your teeth and tongue, trying desperately to get rid of that terrible taste on your tongue, although it didn't go away completely.

You turned around, looking at Jinni with heavy and sad eyes, and it shattered her heart even more.

"It's okay." She whispered as she kissed your head. "Come on, let's get you back to bed."

You walked with her, your steps slow as you dragged your feet due to how exhausted you felt.

You curled up in bed and started to shiver, so she covered you up with the blankets and then kissed your forehead.

"Jinni?"

"Yeah, sweet girl?" She softly spoke, brushing her fingers through her hair.

"Can I have some water?"

"Of course, darling. I'll go get you some. I'll be right back."

You nodded slowly and closed your tired eyes, feeling as though you could just fall right back into a deep sleep right then and there.

She left the room and headed down the stairs, bound to return in only a minute or two.

But your eyes flew open as you felt your stomach turn once more.

Instead of jumping up to get out of bed and rush into the bathroom, so drained of energy and strength, you just reached for your garbage can and got sick into that.

Jinni returned only a few seconds later and immediately rushed to your side.

After putting the glass on your nightstand, she held your hair back again and comforted you as you threw up once more.

"It's okay, baby. You're okay." She promised and then kissed your head softly.

You finished vomiting again just a moment or two later and then laid back down, curling up under the blankets once more as you groaned in agony.

"I'm so sorry you feel so terrible. Just know that I'm here to take care of you."

"At least I got sick on your day off."

She chuckled at your words, nodding her head in agreement.

"I hate seeing you sick. I'd rather you not get sick at all. But I guess if you have to be sick, now is the best time. I can take care of you this way."

You opened your eyes for a second, just to stare at her as you felt this rush of love flood over you and remembered just how lucky you are to have her.

"Get some rest." She said and kissed your cheek before going to clean out your trash can.

She washed her hands before she returned to the bedroom, relieved to find that you were sound asleep.

She curled up beside you and laid as close as she could to you without holding onto you, worried that if she did that she'd make you feel worse, and that was the last thing she wanted.

"I love you, y/n. Have sweet dreams and feel better soon." She whispered and kissed the back of your neck before closing her eyes and falling asleep with you, hoping she'd wake up to you feeling much better.
