"There you are!" Jini smiled as you walked into your shared home. "How was your day, baby?"

She had expected to see you with a smile as big as hers, if not bigger, because you had been so excited to meet up with your best friend today.

Because life has been so busy lately, you haven't been able to see her in a while, but things had finally worked out because you had some free time on your hands and so did she.

But the day went so completely wrong and so unlike what you had expected.

You walked out a few hours ago feeling so excited but now, you feel terrible.

"What's the matter?" Jini asked as you sat down beside her without a word.

You kept your head down for a moment until Jini gently lifted it with a couple of her fingers beneath your chin.

"Baby? What happened? Did something happen with your friend?"

"She's not my friend anymore."

Those words completely shocked Jini.

"What do you mean?"

"She brought along another friend today and the entire time we were out, all they did was make comments about me. They said such awful, mean things. I never expected her to say things like that about me."

Jini's heart shattered.

Of all the people in the world, in her eyes, you deserved that the least.

Because you're such a great girl, everything she has ever wanted and needed, and she thinks you're absolutely beautiful, inside and out.

"They made comments about my body. She mumbled to her new friend about how she didn't think I was that ugly the last time I saw her. They talked about you and how I don't deserve you and how you deserve someone better, someone prettier."

"That's nonsense!" She said as her sadness turned to anger.

"They just said such hurtful things about me, Jini. I don't know this new friend of hers but she had been my best friend for years and then she goes and says all of this about me. I can't help but wonder, if that's how she talks about me while I'm there, what did they say about me before I got there and what are they saying about me now?"

"Stupid stuff. Lies! Untrue, hurtful remarks that they shouldn't even be thinking about you.

"Now I don't have any friends." You mumbled.

Jini let out a sad sigh as she pulled you into her arms.

She rubbed your back comfortingly as you cried, letting everything out that you'd been keeping bottled up until now.

"You have me. That's pretty good, right?"

You smiled through your tears as you lifted your head to stare at her.

"Yeah. It's better than good. I don't deserve you."

"Don't say that. You do. You're perfect."

"Not to them."

"Well, who cares what they think? They're clearly just jealous. Because in my eyes, you are absolutely perfect. You're my favorite person in the world. There's no one I love or will ever love more than you."

You smiled again, warming her heart.

"And you know something?"

"What?"

"As in love with you as I am, as impossible as I think it is, I know that I'm only going to fall even more in love with you. Because you're going to be my girl now and forever, until we're old and grey."

You chuckled before kissing her softly.

"I want nothing more than that."

"Me too." She said as she put her forehead against yours. "Don't listen to what they say. They don't deserve you. If they can even think such untrue and cruel things, they are not your friends. You're going to find better friends, I promise. They're going to be your forever friends, the ones you can always count on. They'll cheer you on and support you through everything that life brings. I promise they're out there, and you'll find them soon enough."

She kissed your forehead softly as she brushed a lock of hair behind your ear.

"And I'm so sorry they said such hurtful things about you but you know they couldn't be further from the truth, right?"

"I know." You said with a smile.

"Good. Because you're gorgeous, inside and out. You're who you're meant to be. You're perfect just the way that you are and your true friends will always remind you of that."

"Thank you, baby. I feel better now."

"I'm happy to hear that." She grinned before pecking your lips. "Come on, let's cuddle and watch a movie together."

"Okay." You happily said as you curled up against her, safe in her warm and comforting embrace.
