"do you have a car?"
I ask as we turn to head outside.
"yeah, I parked it in the back so that no one would drain it" Pablo answers as Blane swings his leg over the parked motorcycle."Blane doesn't mind the infected. He said if he saw anyone near it then they'd fall dead"
"nice to know he's very civil" I nod to myself, smiling. "can I have a ride?" I walk up to Blane, stuffing my hands into my back pockets. He scoffs and backs up gently.
"PLEASEEEE?"
He sighs and revs his engine. I bite my bottom lip, nodding in understanding and begin to walk away.
"you coming or what?"
"I thought you didn't want-" I begin but stop and sigh, jogging up to him. I jump up and swing my right leg over the seat, wrapping my arms around his torso. I can feel his muscles through his thin, black ahirt as my body presses against his back.
"hold on tight" he mutters over his shoulder at me before jolting forward.
Blane hits the brakes, allowing me to open my eyes. He grabs me by the waist as he pulls me from the vehicle and sets me on the ground. I glance around. We're in the middle of nowhere, a few tall trees here and there but no sign of anything within a one mile radius.
"sh-should I just go?" I stutter, looking up at him thinking he obviously took me here just to leave me on my own again.
"no" his gaze lowered at his motorcycle "..you're gonna stay".
"I am? But what if I don't want to stay?"
"then you can die." he hesitantly says as he shrugs the whole idea off. He begins stalking away towards the lake a couple hundred yards away and I just shake my head, letting that confirm that this is where I'll be staying for a while.
I gaze up at Blane who is rinsing his face in the clear, reflective waters of the lake. I must be patient with him - he doesn't seem to be good with first impressions.
