I wake up, sweating like a pig and tears welling up in my eyes. I can't let Amanda get to me like this. I did what I had to do. But that doesn't stop me from finding her and setting things straight. After all, she was my best friend..my companion.
Ever since that day in which I left her behind, I haven't felt the same. But then again, Lana reminds me alot of how I used to be. She gives me that sense of responsibility..that I need to protect her in ways I've failed to do for Amanda.
Im not exactly sure why I dreamt what I had because Amanda didn't die..or atleast I hope she didn't. It was most likely my sub-conscious telling me I miss her dearly. I've been regretting it ever since.
*FLASHBACK*
"Hurry up!! They're onto us!" I yell as Amanda sprints with all her might behind me. The hoard of runners Hanz let out on us were getting closer and closer, growling ravenously as they chased us.
"Blane! They're going to get me!" She cried, panting as she slowed down.
"Just a few more blocks, Mandy! We'll be alright!"
I turn my head to look behind me but Amanda wasn't there. I stopped and saw one of Hanz's men pull her into the alley way, gun to her head.
I knew I was going to be zombie-food if I didn't keep moving. I try to block out seeing Amanda get kidnapped, running as fast as I could - away from the scene.
