It's been roughly three weeks since Kunikida and I revealed the fact that we were together, but things at the agency were back to normal.
As well, the news has recently been showcasing a 'man-eating tiger' that has been showing up around the city at night. I was watching it on the T.V. in the lounge with Kunikida, since we had some down time.
"Hey, Doppo, is this the tiger you talked about?" I asked looking up at him. I was laying on his chest cuddled close to him on the couch.
"Yes, Dazai and I have been closely investigating it. He's got a few leads, but nothing worth mentioning as of now," he told me, keeping his eyes on the screen.
I hummed and went back to watching the news, cuddling myself a little closer to him.
"Kunikida~," Dazai excitedly dragged out his name, walking into the lounge room.
"Oh, sorry for interrupting," He turned and left without a second glance.
"Dazai, wait--" Kunikida sits me up and goes after him.
"Good luck on the investigation love!" I called out after him.
I went back to viewing the news, only to realize they weren't covering the tiger anymore.
"Boring," I sighed, turning off the T.V. and heading back to my desk.
I passed by the conference room and heard Dazai and Kunikida talking about the tiger, so I decided to stop for a second.
"...warehouse..." "...two weeks..." "...Port Mafia..."
I could only hear random words, but I safely assumed it was information about the tiger. Maybe they planned to capture it?
I went to my desk and answered a few outstanding emails I had.
---
It's been about two weeks since that tiger showed up. Concerned for my safety, Kunikida didn't let me go home by myself and always insisted on taking me home from work. I definitely didn't mind the time I got to spend with him, including the nights I got to spend at his house.
After work, Kunikida invited me out for the night, but this wasn't a date, unless Dazai was our annoying third wheel. He sat in the back of the car with his headphones on, listening to music.
"Woah, woah, yeah... You can't do a double suicide alone, but with two, you can! Double, double, suicide, let's go! Double, double..."
He was in his own world, listening to some weird song and singing along horribly.
"So, Doppo, what are we doing tonight?" I asked curiously.
Kunikida pulled into a parking lot. "Tonight, is the night we get that tiger. Or at least try our best to."
I nodded, getting out of the car. I knocked on Dazai's window to make sure he knew we were leaving. He took off his headphones and walked with us.
"Dazai, do you have a plan to get this tiger thing?" I asked while holding Kunikida's arm as we walked.
"Not exactly," he said while looking at the river we were passing by on a bridge.
I hummed, setting my sights back on what was ahead of us. It was around 6pm at night, and I was trying not to think about how I was starving right now. Almost to spite me, my stomach let out a loud growl. I froze up and tried to play it off as I kept walking.
"Are you hungry, (Y/N)?" Kunikida asked, looking at me and slowing down a bit.
"Oh, no, not at all! I'm sure that sound was just the wind, heh..." I responded nervously.
