𝖉𝖎𝖓𝖓𝖊𝖗 - 7

Speaking of sleeping perfectly, I slept in.

I scrambled out of bed freaking out, I slept a whole 30 minutes after my alarm! Kunikida's gonna kill me!

I quickly changed into suitable work attire and ran to the bathroom. I did my usual morning routine at godspeed, threw on my shoes and left.

I forgot my phone.

I sprinted back inside, grabbed my phone and ran back to my car. I was driving at the very top of the speed limit, making sure not to go too fast.

When I arrived at the building, I checked my watch. That took half an hour?! I was now an hour late!

I dashed up the stairs and made it to the office. I didn't have time to wait for an elevator.

I threw open the door and scanned the room, out of breath. The office was empty except for Yosano and Kunikida.

"Where the-" I paused, trying to catch my breath. "-hell is everyone?" I finished.

Kunikida looked at me funny. "What are you talking about? You're an hour and a half early."

I blinked. I was what?

I took my seat in front of him. Soon after, I heard my phone's alarm go off. I took out my phone to silence it, sparing a glance at the time. I was an hour and a half early.

It took me a second to realize what was going on. I was super awake as well, so I didn't need a coffee or anything to wake me up.

"I'm gonna pretend nothing happened. What do we have to do today?" I asked Kunikida.

"Just some leftover work from yesterday until everyone gets here, I want a meeting with everyone later," he told me, handing me some documents.

I nodded, getting right to work.

About two hours passed and the other staff had started to trickle in. Everyone was here now, so Kunikida called a meeting.

We all gathered around a table. I was seated next to Yosano and Dazai. We started talking about some important event that was happening with some gifted organizations, and we needed a representative because the President would be out on a business trip elsewhere that day.

Some ideas were tossed around, such as Dazai because of his excellent skills as a detective. However, Kunikida instantly shut down that idea. Tanizaki and Kenji suggested Ranpo, who responded saying he didn't care for leadership roles and such. I looked at Ranpo, thinking he would have been a fit candidate as well. I second guessed that thought when I realized he had an endless stash of candy and chips in front of him.

"I have an idea," I said, raising my hand. "May I?" I held out my hand, asking for the marker from Kunikida.

He nodded and gave it to me, and I walked up to the white board.

I had my back facing everyone, and Kunikida standing to the side of the board. I started to write out the kanji for Kunikida. I finished and turned around, asking for everyones thoughts.

Kunikida looked taken aback, and I could have sworn I saw a bit of pink on his face. Might've been the sun. 

"Someone who represents the agency well, right? I may not have been here that long, but I can tell that he's a hard worker. He follows his ideals down to a tee and never messes up. Any objections?" I said.

Everyone shook their heads and said they agreed.

"Then we have our decision. Congratulations, Kunikida," I told him.
