Three girls asked Freddie to The Sadie Hawkins Dance. The first two girls being hard to choose from Ariana and Jamie. The last being Magic Malika. When he finally made his decision both Ariana and Jamie already asked other guys so it seemed like he'd be going with Malika. When discovered this, he ended up telling Sam."I'm so bummed."
"What's wrong? Besides this." She lightly tapped both his cheeks multiple times which just made him frown more.
"I'm not in the mood, Puckett." She raised her eyes brows and he continued. "I waited too long. Jamie and Ariana both already asked other guys to the dance so I had to say yes to Magic Malika."
Then he saw Gibby from over Sam's shoulder and pointed to him. "Uhh don't you have something to do?" She turned around to see Gibby at the water fountain and let out a noise of protest. Freddie added to his previous statement. "You promised Carly you'd ask him." She looked back at Freddie with obvious discontent with the current situation. He made a gesture with his hands that looked like a person walking and added. "Hurry along."
Sam looked back towards their regular iCarly guest star; discontent remaining on her face. "GIBBY!" She yelled and the boy jumped from the water fountain. "Huh?" There was fear in his eyes and was obvious to anyone that he was afraid Sam was going to give him another Texas wedgie. Instead Sam just pointed at him and walked over to him. "I wanna talk to you." He walked closer to her.
"What's up?"
Sam paused and before asking. "How would you like to go to The Girl's Choice Dance with me?"
"Nah I'm good." He just went back to the water fountain. Sam felt a tick of annoyance rise in her. She walked up to him and tapped his shoulder. He turned to look at her. "What do you mean 'you're good'?" She started and then pointed at him accusingly. "Who asked you to the dance?" He quickly responded. "Nobody." Sam grabbed his shirt and started pushing him while he just screamed. However she had questions. "NOBODY?!" She pushed him into a locker. "NOBODY ASKED YOU?! AND YOU JUST TURNED ME DOWN?!" Gibby tucked his thumbs up under the rest of his fingers. "Please don't break my thumbs again."
Freddie walked over; confused by what he'd just seen. "What are you doing?" She turned to explain herself. "I was trying to do this boy a favor and he-" She, however, must have loosened her grip because Gibby got away and ran off away from them; screaming the whole way.
"See what you did. He got away."
"What happened?"
"I asked him to the stupid dance and he said 'nah I'm good'." When Sam repeated Gibby's words they came out mocking and with an eye roll.
"Did somebody else already ask him?"
"NO!"
Freddie started to snicker but Sam glared at him and grabbed his shirt collar. "Not laughing! I'M NOT LAUGHING!" She let go of his shirt collar. "Whatever, I'm going home." She started to walk away but Freddie grabbed her shoulder and spun her to face him. "Ohhh no you're not. You're coming with us to the Groovy Smoothie to interview all the guys who entered your little take Carly to the dance contest." She rolled her eyes. "Ugh! Can't you and Carly and Spencer handle it?" He shook his head slightly. "It was your idea." She really just wanted to go home and forget this whole dance existed so her immediate response was. "So? You don't need my help! How many guys do you think are gonna show up?" But of course she ended up having to go interview a bunch of random guys....
___________________On the night of the dance she knocked on Freddie's door. He answered it. "Uh hi, Sam...you're all dressed up. I thought you weren't going to the dance?" Sam sighed. "Well, I didn't get a chance to tell Carly that Gibby didn't want to go to the dance with me. So if I'm gonna be all dressed up like a daffodil I'm going to that dance." Freddie gave her a look of disbelief. "Don't go tormenting Gibby again." She shook her head. "I wasn't going to torment him. He can be lonely at home. You still bummed you have to go with Magic Malika?" Freddie raised an eyebrow at her question but nodded. This made Sam smirk.
"Good because I've decided you're taking me to the dance."
"But what about Malika?"
"She needs to get used to being disappointed."
"Sam..."
"Just take me to the stupid dance."
"And what will you tell Carly?"
"Doesn't matter."
____________________Freddie and Sam decided to go to the Girl's Choice Dance together. It was a last minute decision but they ended up having a lot of fun together. However Austin, Carly's date, annoyed them to no end. They ended up ditching Carly during the dance. They knew it was a terrible. If you asked Sam it was completely justified because the guy would cut everyone off and talk about completely irrelevant things. Freddie was actually just worried Sam would knock him out.
At some point, they'd fallen into a comfortable silence almost like they'd forgotten whose company they were in. But it changed when a slow dance started Freddie stood. "May I have this dance?" Sam looked at him with a cookie in mouth. He was shocked that she finished chewing before saying. "That made you sound like a nub." He laughed slightly and held out his hand; which she took. "Of course you can." They walked to the dance floor and he held her waist while she held wrapped her arms around his neck.
"This is nice."
"Yeah it is..."
"Hey, Benson. Thanks for this."
"Anytime, Puckett."
She rested her head on his shoulder with a small smile on her face. "I'll deny it if you tell anyone but you're one of my best friends." She whispered. Freddie just smiled and kissed the top of her head.
I like you, Freddie.
Those words would never leave her lips. At least she hoped they wouldn't.
