Hu Tao already knew where she was. She had been going to the same room, the same darkness, the same place every night. The dark room that she would eventually find Y/N, who would start to blame her for their death. No matter how hard Hu Tao would try, she was always unable to wake herself up, practically being forced into this nightmare and having to endure all the pain it would give her until she woke up in a pool of her sweat.
The only difference that happened in this nightmare was that instead of wandering aimlessly until she found Y/N was that she felt something hit her back, so hard that she felt something break inside of her.
"ACK!-" As Hu Tao fell to the ground, she could feel some of her blood already welling up to leave her mouth. When she turned her head to see what hit her, she saw "Y/N" standing behind her, not looking very pleased to see their girlfriend in front of them. "W-Why? Why are you treating me like this?" Hu Tao coughed out blood from her mouth, wiping her lip with her sleeve.
"You've asked me that for the past five days, Hu Tao, and each time I gave you your answer." Y/N swung their hand at Hu Tao's cheek, the contact making a resounding smack as it echoed in the room.
Hu Tao, painfully, stood up, looking at "Y/N" with tears in her eyes. "T-This isn't you though! The Y/N I know wouldn't attack anybody! More so with me!"
"Yeah? Well the Y/N you knew was dead the moment you didn't save them from their death!" Y/N kicked Hu Tao on her right side of her chest, making her fall back to the floor and slide a few feet away from them.
"AACK-*COUGH* *COUGH*" Hu Tao turned as she fell to her knees, not facing Y/N. "W-Why do you keep bringing t-that up! I-I couldn't save you in time!"
"Because that's the truth of the matter Hu Tao, it's your fault that I'm dead! It's your fault that my body is being eaten by the fish of Guyun Stone Forest! Take a look at what happened to me!" When Hu Tao looked back at Y/N, she saw their body changed. Their clothes were tattered, and their left eye socket was missing an eye, the right still having the eye but it was partially eaten. Both sockets having blood coming out. The right cheek was also eaten a lot more, blood running down the wound. The tip of their left hand's index finger was showing bone, both hands having been gnawed on and blood staining the hands.
"This is my body now!"
"N-No, that can't be true..."
"All because you didn't act fast enough!"
"I-I did!"
"Then why did you talk with those cowards before trying to save me?!"
After hearing that, Hu Tao opened her mouth to respond, but nothing came out, just more tears.
"If you hadn't talked with those cowards and jumped earlier, I could still be alive!" "Y/N" walked up to Hu Tao, the latter crawling away as fast as she could, but soon felt the familiar feeling of the ground holding her in place. "Talking to them instead of jumping earlier made you lose the chance to save me!"
"Guess you're no different than those cowards my Walnut~," Hu Tao on a normal day would've felt happy at the familiar pet name, but instead felt fear and more tears coming out due to "Y./N" saying the name harshly. "There you were, blaming them for doing nothing, yet you took your sweet time telling them that while still on the Jade Chamber."
"Y/N" got down onto one knee, pressing their hand against Hu Tao's cheeks so tightly that Hu Tao swore she could feel her jaw about to explode.
"I drowned you four times already." Hu Tao blinked, and saw herself instead of Y/N, hearing her voice instead of Y/N's. "Perhaps I shall let the sea critters have at you this time."
