Stray's POV
Nervous, excited, and anxious were all popular emotions I am going through at the moment. Lea asked me out. He did, right? I'm pretty sure he did. Or did he mean as friends? But otherwise, why would he be paying? I started walking over to my bedroom, trying to locate the closet that I have yet to see. Oh lord, what do I wear? Do I wear the outfit that says 'I'm so glad to be going on a date with you!' or do I wear the outfit that says 'Just two friends hanging out and eating dinner together because they can.' or do I wear the outfit that says 'I think you're cute. I might have been slightly pulled by your force of gravity, but what do you think of me?' Oh dear, I had to be ready in five minutes. Little did I know, I meant 50 minutes. I wonder if he's nervous like I am. Wait, me? Nervous? Stray does not get nervous. A little fidgety maybe, but nervous? I swing the closet door open and start deciphering my way through each hanger of clothing. Why is it that at a time like this, I do not own at least one nice dress?! You know what? Forget it. I decide on wearing what I have been earlier. What I have been wearing consisted of a red, floral China top, like what Chinese waitresses would wear at the restaurants, black capris, and red-velvet flats. I dash outside of my room and turn left into the bathroom. I quickly brush my long, black hair and attach a red headband on top. I lean forward so I can get a good look at myself in the mirror. Yup, makeup still intact. No sweat lines from unpacking this afternoon. I'm pretty sure my five minutes were long overdue. I backtrack into the living area and grab my handbag and cell off the table, once again. I make sure to shut off the lights and walk out of the apartment, locking the door behind me. Whew! Lea's not out of his apartment yet. Made it just in time. Although, it's been like, 20 minutes since the last time I saw him. I knock on his apartment door. "Lea! Are you in there? Sorry I'm late, but I had to gussy myself up!" I shout, trying to get his attention through the closed door. I wait a few more minutes. I hope he doesn't think I stood him up. That can't be though because he seemed so happy to gain a new friend. 'Friend.' Suddenly, that word pains me to even say it. The door opens, interrupting my thoughts. Lea steps out with flowers in his hand. "Sorry I'm late. I hope you didn't think I was leaving you behind." he says whilst handing me the flowers. The flowers looked to be roses. Roses were my favorite, fortunately for him. "Oh that's fine! I was hoping the same thing, actually. Thank you! These are my favorite." I say taking the roses into my own hand. "You're welcome. So what are you in the mood for tonight?" Lea asks me. "I'm not much in the mood for anything, but you know what I do want? Some Seasalt ice cream." I loved Seasalt ice cream. Despite the name, it was actually pretty sweet. Lea's expression turns to amazement. "And those are my favorite." he says with a smile. I turn my gaze to the side. I can feel my cheeks getting warm. How was I supposed to know that? That it was his favorite too. I swear, I did not plan this. I return my gaze upon him. His expression went from amazement to being shy. His cheeks were looking flushed, just as mine were. He really is cute. Only one day since I've been here, in Radiant Garden, and I'm already feeling victim to love. It has been only one day, though. I think I'll take it slow on this one. I quickly unlock my apartment door and toss the roses on the couch. I then back a foot out of the doorway and relocked the apartment. I'll be putting the roses in a vase later, but right now, I've got plans. I tug on his arm to gain back his attention. "So I'm the one who's new here. Where do we go to get our just desserts?" I ask giving a smirk. "I know just the place. Follow me." he says whilst grabbing hold of my hand to pull me with him. We run down the flight of stairs and exit the building. Lea drags me down the walkway across the street until we're at a sign named, Uncle Scrooge's. Who's uncle Scrooge? And why were we standing outside of his shop? Suddenly, a duck appeared at the desk. He looked to be late of age and he had a blue blazer, a blue top-hat, and an eye piece on. "What can I do for you fellows?" he asked us. Lea told him our order. "Yes, I'll have one box of Seasalt ice cream, please." Lea handed him the change. "Thank you, come again." Uncle Scrooge told us as he handed us the box of ice cream. I looked at Lea with a concerned expression, as we walked away. "What? You don't expect to have only one, do you?" he smirked. I nudge him in the arm. We walk around the corner and find a bench near by. Lea let go of my hand and open the box. He hands me a bar of Seasalt and takes one out for himself. I start unwrapping the package. I hold the ice cream up to my mouth and give it little kisses. Then I notice Lea watching me as he takes a bite out of his. "What?" "Oh, nothing. I was just thinking you're adorable the way you eat your ice cream." I take the bar away from my mouth and shift my head to face the other direction. I can't take this embarrassment. My face is burning red. "You're annoying, you know that?" I countered. "As long as I live on in your memory, I don't mind." I turn back to face him. "I got that memorized." throwing his words back at him in a teasingly state of fashion. I take another bite of my ice cream, feeling accomplished.
