Stray's POV
Okay, so I met this guy whom I thought was my friend. So why was he telling me to get out of his apartment before he fights me? What the hell!? I am not okay with this. He looks like Lea. He talks like Lea. But there is no way in hell that is my friend, Lea! I just saw him earlier since this morning and I did not see those purple things under his eyes yesterday either. Maybe it has something to do with them. I stand my ground and shake his hand away from mine. Instead, I put my hand on his shoulder. "Uhm, Lea? Maybe you need some sleep..?" I say trying to get him to understand what he was doing. He shoved my hand off of him. "I told you, my name is Axel. Apparently, someone doesn't have that part memorized." He shakes his head disapprovingly. "Axel? Who's Axel? I met you yesterday and you said your name is Lea!" I exclaim. Apparently, it was him who doesn't have it memorized. "I'm afraid I can't tell you that. That would just give out way too much." He says with a smirk, as if he's taunting me. "I'd love to stay and chat, but I must get going." Suddenly, some kind of portal draws him in from under and he fades away. What the hell just happened!? I still want to know who Axel is!! Hmm. If I want to find out something about my neighbor, the first step to take is rummage around their apartment while they're gone! Le- Axel is gone, so he wouldn't mind if I helped myself. I started in the best place I could think of, which is right where I was standing. I walk towards the closet and pry it open. I stick my head in and look to all sides and directions. Surely, something had to be here. Something like a journal of some sort. Someone like Lea, surely had to have one somewhere. I can't imagine him not having one. Hmm. Nothing in the closet, but a few outfits and shoes. It's easy to tell which one of us cares the most about looks. I roll my eyes and close the closet. Where else could it be? Maybe the dresser? I walk towards the dresser across the bed. I open the first drawer. Nothing. I open the second. Nothing. I open the third. Nothing! I take a glance on top of of the dresser. Really? Reallllllly?! It was there the whole time! Can I not have been so much more blind!? I quickly take the journal and hustle out through the apartment. I quickly shut the door behind me and take a quick sidestep over to my apartment. I close my door and make sure it's locked. I don't want any unannounced visitors dropping by while I'm reading their journal. I forget all about the paint job I have to finish on the walls and quickly somber up on the couch. Breath in-breath out. You can do this, Stray. You've got this. I didn't want to seem like snooping, but I wanted to. I HAD to if I wanted to know why Lea changed all of a sudden. The first page was dated June 26, 2019. This was dated back a few months before I moved here. So this had been going on since before I got here. I continue to read. "I am finally back to normal." it read. Lea? Normal? Okay. Something was definitely going on. I start to read again, but soon there was a knock at the door. I closed the journal, un-needing to mark my place, since all I read was the first sentence. I hide the journal inside the oven in the kitchen. It was sure to be safe there. I quickly walk towards the door and glance through the peephole. The blondie from the restaurant was outside the door. What did she want? And how did she know where I lived? I contemplate whether or not I should open the door. I decide I should.
