Don't disappear next time

The light from the sunrise started flooding the blondes bedroom as she opened her eyes,reaching her arm to the other side of the bed in search for a certain brunette but just felt an empty mattress. She waved her arm around the bed like an idiot before doing the normal thing and opening her eyes to look for Carina. Still nothing.

"Carina??" she shouted in her raspy morning voice, which the Italian normally found very... attractive to say the least.
After getting no reply again Maya pulled herself out of bed, although the two weren't technically 'girlfriends' or whatever she never usually left without waking the other up, so Maya knew Carina was safe.

It slightly worried Maya so she decided to swing by grey-Sloan before she headed to the station, A-shift were only working 12 hours, 8am-8pm, so she could live without the extra sleep. The firefighter grabbed her protein shake and headed for her car because of the detour to the hospital she couldn't run for fear of being late.

"Hi, um Dr.. Altman? Is it?" Maya asked when she ran into the cardio surgeon. "Yes, and you are?" Teddy questioned squinting her eyes as her brain worked hard trying to think if she should know this blonde. "Um I don't know if you know me I'm Maya Bishop I am Carinas..uh Dr Delucas uh friend." Maya stuttered almost every word she spoke and smiled awkwardly at the end.

"Oh my! Yes Maya! wow Delucs wasn't lying look at you" Teddy winked and Mayas eyes just widened looking at the doctor opposite even more awkwardly than before. "Um anyway did you need someone, your not having a heart attack or something?"

Maya chuckled and continued to ask Teddy "I was just wondering if Dr Deluca has came in the morning, she left without saying anything and I was...worried." As she was finishing her question Teddy saw Amelia Shepard walking towards them, with Mayas back to Amelia the brunette started frantically shaking her head.

"Oh um" Teddy sighed and rubbed her forehead "You know I think she just went into surgery,you must of just missed her sorry" Amelia walked around to join the group "Hi Amelia Shepard, Neuro" She extended her hand to Maya who finished the handshake. "Maya Bishop, uhm fire?" Her and Teddy giggled and Amelia put a fake shocked look her face.

"The famous Maya bishop it's so good to meet you, did Teddy tell you that Carina just went into surgery? It's a shame we could've had a proper group meeting" The two doctors sighed and pretended to be disappointed. "Well I hope we meet you some other time but we have a surgery to scrub on so.."

"Hey Teddy, Amelia!" Carina shouted from down the hall and bother doctors eyes went wide. Maya just looked extremely confused. Carina saw Maya when the surgeons moved to look at be carina and the shocked look across her face seemed to spread to the rest of her body as she immediately turned around and walked away.

"Carina?!" Maya shouted but the brunette didn't stop to look back.

One week later, still being visibly avoided by Carina and no contact.

It was almost the end of their twelve hour shift and the team were all sitting in the beanery just talking. "Hey cap why do you look so down?" Travis asked concerned. "I think Carinas hates me, I don't even know I don't want to talk about it" Maya replies staring at her shoes.

"HEY! Let's have a partayyyyyy" Vic shouted earring a "WHOOOOP" from Andy and the whole team got excited.
"I'm not really up for going out but we can have drinks at my house?" Maya asked which everyone agreed to. "Can I bring Miranda?" Ben asked, I swear he still so whipped by Miranda even after all these years. "Yeah of course husbands, wives , boyfriend girls friends whatever I don't care"

They all agreed that they would meet at 9pm giving Maya plenty of time to relax and get a quick shower. After she got out of the shower, got dressed and had her hair dried Andy and Vic had both arrived. "Hey all I'm saying is we just drink a load tonight and forget about that stupid doctor!" Andy explained "AMEN" Vic screamed whilst holding a bottle of vodka in each hand.
