Before my mind has time to react Reeves has pulled his hands from mine and shielded me with his body, blocking my line of sight. I look for my father in the crowd and as soon as I spot him my suspicions are confirmed. I can tell by the look of horror and betrayal on his face that the women with the ominous message is my mother.

Just as I come to that realization all heck breaks loose. Several of Reeves's warriors bound forward but it was like chasing smoke, by the time the reach the woods she is no where to be found and her scent has all but evaporated.

Despite the obvious fact that she is gone for now Reeves hasn't let me move. "Babe she's gone. Please let go of me." I say in the gentlest voice I can manage. He doesn't budge so I duck beneath his arms that entrap me and make my way to his front.

That seems to bring him to life as he growls at me, roughly grabbing my arm and pulling me away from the crowd and back to the main house. He doesn't speak the entire walk and as soon as we enter the house he slams the door behind us, locking it.  He rushes up the stairs to our room, leaving me standing baffled behind him in the foyer.

I take a moment to collect myself and then slowly walk up the stairs and make my way into the bed. He's manically throwing clothing into bags, tearing our room apart as he does so. "Reeves what are you doing?" I yell hoping to get his attention.

"Its not safe here." He growls, turning around as I notice how dark his eyes have become. I can tell his animal form is close to the surface, brought out by rage and overprotectiveness. "We are going to our neighbors, where my sister and parents are. We can't stay here with the threat of your mom looming over our heads." His eyes began to turn back to his normal blue color as he calms down.

"Reeves is that really necessary? Maybe we should just stay here for the night and calm down alright?"

As soon as the words leave my mouth I regret them. His eyes darken again and he slams his fist into the wall, denting it. "No it's not fucking 'okay'!" He screams, his face turning red as he continues to fume. "We are leaving. Now. What I say is final and you are not to question my authority, ever."

He picks up both bags and storms out of the room. I follow him with out protesting, I don't want to see him any angrier than he already is. I follow him all the way to the garage and climb into the passenger side door. This is not the pretenses under which I want to meet my future mother and father in law.
