"What do you mean that you don't shift into wolf?" Reeves's father says, his voice raising with each word as he stands up abruptly, his chair smashing to the ground behind him. "Son don't you dare tell me that your mate is a human and you accepted her anyways!" His father yells, his face turning dark red.

Reeves immediately stands up, pulling me with him and stepping in front of me, blocking me completely from his fathers view. I feel his body vibrate with a growl as he quickly gets very protective. I gently wrap my arms around his waist, burying my face in his back in an attempt to calm him down. I feel his muscles relax beneath my hands and I detach myself from him, stepping out from behind him tangling our fingers together as I face his father.

"I'm not a human." I say as calmly as I can muster. "Its not that I don't shift, its just that I don't shift into a wolf. I have always taken on the form of a lynx." I say quietly, wishing I could curl up and hide rather than being in the harsh gaze of Reeves's father David.

Looking up into David's eyes and see that his face is washed with relief and his face is slowly turning back to its normal shade of tan. "Oh thank the Gods. That we can handle. Sylvia shifts into panda bear, so we are used to unusual shifts." After speaking David sits down and tucks back into his breakfast, obviously having calmed down from his fit.

After I am sure that Reeves is calm I remove my hand from his and sit back in my seat, beginning to eat my breakfast as Reeves sits back down next to me. After a few more minutes I finish and stand up, nodding to Pam and David as I excuse myself to go get ready for the rest of the day.

After a day full of just hanging around Pam and David's house I meet Reeves at the front door and entwine my fingers with his. Before he leads us out the door to his sisters cottage he turns to look at me, his eyes full with adoration and affection as he does. I feel a small grin spread across my face and I push myself up on my tip-toes, gently pecking my lips before leading us out the door.

We make our way down a small path and after a short stroll through the woods we approach a small clearing. Right in front of us is a large yet cozy cobblestone cottage with ivy creeping up the sides. Perched in the front door is a slender young women around 19 or 20 and I immediately come to the assumption that she is Sylvia, Reeves's 20 year old sister.

She waves to us, gesturing to us to follow her inside. As I walk hand in hand with Reeves I can't help but realize how gorgeous she is. She is tall and slender, her long dark hair cut into a pixie cut and her sharp cheek bones drawing attention to her icy blue eyes, much different than that of her brother.

We follow her into her home as she takes a seat on her mates lap, obviously very comfortable there. I slowly follow Reeves to the couch, hoping I don't feel as uncomfortable as I look. Reeves sits down and obviously is picking up on how frazzled I am and he pulls me down next to him, but not pushing it. I lean into him and begin to get comfortable when Sylvia's mate Patrick clears his throat.

"I hope this isn't too awkward for you two. Dinner will be done shortly. But maybe in the meantime we could get to know each other. Because I don't know either of you very well and this is Sylvia's first time meeting your mate. How about a game of twenty questions?"

Hey guys! I'm finally back, sorry I've been gone so long. I'm getting ready for finals for school and am currently recovering from an ankle surgery. I should be back to updating regularly in about 2 weeks. Thank you so much for allowing me to take this unannounced break and thank you for sticking with this story!!
