I'm climbing up Hope Mountain for my daily poetry fix.
Churning out my verses is more fun than Pick-Up-Sticks.
Some day I'll be famous, I'll headline my own show,
That day may be after I'm dead, but somehow I will know.
I'm climbing up Hope Mountain, I'm never turning tail.
I can't control the future, but I know I'll prevail
If I just keep on hiking along the Zany Trail.
Now I'm in the Golden Years, at least they tell me so.
If I live to be ninety, there's still some years to go.
What can I accomplish in those last remaining dayzes?
I want to be remembered as someone who amazes.
I'm climbing up Hope Mountain, I'm never turning tail.
I can't control the future, but I know I'll prevail
If I just keep on hiking along the Zany Trail.
If I become demented, how horrid that will be!
I'll rant and rave and fantasize about infinity.
I'll weep and wail and gnash my teeth as my cognitions roam,
But in the Wilds of Zanyverses I'll be right at home.
I'm climbing up Hope Mountain, I'm never turning tail.
I can't control the future, but I know I'll prevail
If I just keep on hiking along the Zany Trail.
