If I were a mushroom
And you were an ant,
We'd be phenomenal,
très élégant!
Chicest of chic!
The talk of the town!
I'd look stupendous
In my red wedding gown.
If I were a unicorn
And you were a gnu
I wouldn't care!
I'd still marry you!
We'd skip and canter,
Gallop and prance!
We'd wow all our guests
With our nuptial dance.
If I were from Vogon
And you were from Mars
We would never tire
Of exploring the stars!
I'd wrote stodgy verses,
You'd sing silly rhymes.
Our collaborations
Would be hits for all times.
If I were purple
And you were green,
What a fashion statement!
We'd smirk and we'd preen.
We'd wear silver robes
With tiaras of gold.
We'd be the in thing!
We would never grow old!
What I'm trying to say,
If you don't get my drift,
When I see your smile
It gives me a lift.
I want to be yours,
I want you to be mine.
No matter what happens
Our love will be fine.
So give me a call,
if you want a date,
ASAP,
please don't be late.
I'm getting decrepit,
I need your love now,
My time-ravaged fruit
will soon fall from the bough
