I awoke in a terrible mood. Everything made me mad and grumpy. While putting on my black leggings and tank top, I could only think about Draco Malfoy. He just makes me so irritated. He's nice to me, then when I'm with my friends he acts like a bitch. I tried not to think about him, so I thought about Hogwarts. I was especially excited for the feast. The delicious chicken and potato's, oh, and that wonderful smooth gravy. I couldn't wait.

I put on a little bit of make-up and slid my glasses onto my face. They were my extras, but I lost my others at the Quidditch World Cup. I finally finished getting ready, and found that both Ginny and Hermione were waiting for me, impatient looks on their faces. We exited Ginny's room and started down the stairs. before we got to the first floor, Mr. Weasley came up the stairs, quickly saying goodbye.

"Leaving already dad?" Ginny asked.

"There's an emergency." He replied, kissing her on the head. We continued down the stairs and went into the kitchen to get breakfast before heading to Kings Cross.

"Tell us what's happening at Hogwarts! What rules are changing?" Fred yelled out to his mother, but she only smiled and waved. She was gone before the train even turned the corner. Ron, Hermione, Harry, and I all headed down the hallway of the Hogwarts Expess, headed to our compartment that our trunks were already in, halfway down the train.

The lunch trolley came by eventually. Harry bought us all cauldron cakes to share, and I bought some licorice wands.

A few of our classmates dropped in on our compartment, including Dean Thomas and Seamus Finnigan. Seamus gave me a lingering look when he came in. He has had a crush on me since the beginning of 3rd year, and everyone knows it. I like him, he just isn't really my 'type'. Once Dean and Seamus left, everyone started laughing, except me.

"He definitely still has a thing for you, Alex." Ron breathed between fits of laughter.

"Oh shut it, you three." I replied, pouting.

Eventually everyone got over their laughter, and Hermione even had to wipe tears from her eyes.

Neville Longbottom also came by, a pudgy boy with buck teeth. We all started talking about the Quidditch World Cup (except Hermione), and the conversation drifted to Viktor Krum.

"We saw him right up close, as well," Ron explained. "We were in the top box-"

"For the first and last time in you life, Weasley."

Draco stood in the doorway, Crabbe and Goyle, his cronies, stood behind him. I looked up at him, staring into his cool, grey eyes as he stared into mine. Without even blinking, I said one line that shocked even myself. "You're so arrogant you can't even face your own family problems. You're dads a freaking death eater for crying out loud! Do you know how many peoople he killed? Two of them were my parents!" My eyes started tearing up as I tried holding back the tears.

Draco's eyes softened and he looked like he was at a loss for words. He shook his head and turned to Ron, "Weasley... What is that?" He said, pointing at Ron's dress robes. Draco snatched the robes just as Ron was stuffing them away. "Look at this!" He said to Crabbe and Goyle. "Weasley, you weren't thinking of wearing these, were you? I mean they were fashionable in about 1890..."

"Eat dung, Malfoy" Ron said, his face beet red.

"So... going to enter, Weasley? Going to try and bring a bit of glory to the family name? There's money involved as well, you know... you'd be able to afford some decent dress robes if you won..." Draco spat.

"What are you talking about?" Replied Harry.

"Are you going to enter? Suppose you will Potter? You never miss a chance to show off, do you?"

"Either explain what you're going on about or go away, Malfoy," Hermione said from behind her book.

Many thought were running through my head, the most profound one was the memory of Draco trying to be nice to my friends, guess that's over.

"Don't tell me you don't know? You've got a father and brother at the ministry and you don't even know? My god, my father told me about it ages ago... heard it from Cornelius Fudge. But then, Father's always associated with the top people at the Ministry... maybe your fathers too junior to know about it, Weasley... yes... they probably don't talk about important stuff in front of him..."

The three Slytherins burst out laughing, and with one last look at me, Draco left the compartment with his two babboons. Ron stood up, stomped over to close the door, and slammed it so hard he broke the glass.

"Ron!" Hermione got out her wand and repaired the shattered glass.

I sighed and put my head against the window, closing my eyes. I blocked out everyones voices. I just couldn't deal with this now. I had to get the blonde-haired boy out of my head, but it was impossible, no matter what I did. Soon enough, I fell asleep.

***

It felt like it had only been half a minute when I woke up. But when I opened my eyes to see Hermione shaking me, saying we were nearly there and I needed to get my robes on, I knew it had to have been longer.

I gathered my robes out of my trunk and headed out of the compartment to get changed.

On my way back, I mustn't have been paying attention to where I was going because I ran into someone. Me, being short, this person seemed extremely tall. I looked up at this stranger to see the same blonde-haired boy who had been in my compartment earlier- Draco. I tried slipping past him, but he grabbed my arm before I could leave.

"Alex..."

"What?! I don't want to talk to you, Malfoy." I replied harshly.

"Look I had no idea that my father-"

I cut him off. "Killed my parents? Yeah, I know. That doesn't change the fact that you're an ass, does it? It just adds another reason to my list of why I should never talk to you again."

"Oh Alex." He smirks, "You just wait. I don't care what you say, I will make you mine." And with that, Draco walks away.

I stand in the hallway, breathless, as I stare at the back of the boy who is always on my mind.

We all walked off the trained into the downpour at Hogsmeade station. We spot Hagrid, which isn't too hard since he is a half-giant. We quickly say hi before climbing thankfully onto the roofed horseless carriages. Not long after we got on, the carriage made a great lurch as we started up the muddy trail towards Hogwarts castle, where I will be spending the next months of my life studying magic.
