"HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEX!!!" My parents screamed in unison, standing in my doorway.
I groan and look at the alarm clockbeside me. It's only 7:06! No one in their right mind would get up this early in the summer, especially not me. I throw a big pillow across the room at my parents. They look both shocked and amused.
"Get up sleepyhead, you can not sleep in on your 11th birthday!" My mom says as my dad prys me out of bed. I fall onto the wooden floor with a thump.
"Ow!" I moan, "That actually hurt!".
"Well too bad Ms. sleepyhead! It's time for breakfast! Your mother made your favorite, pancakes and bacon!"
I made a noise that resembled a grunt and a groan put together as I pulled myself up off the floor.
"Fine! I give up! Just let me brush my hair first." I say, gesturing to the large knot that sat atop of my head.
The two adults closed the door as they left, and I could hear them stomping down the stairs, presumably heading to the kitchen.
I sighed and walked over to my medium sized vanity in the corner of my room. I pulled out a brush and prepared myself for the war with my thoroughly knotted hair. I brought the purple brush to my head and pulled it through my hair, wincing at every stroke.
Finally, I finished and slowly walked out the door and down the stairs to the kitchen.
"Uncle Ben!" I exclaimed as I saw him sitting at the table across from my dad.
"Happy birthday, kiddo." He replied.
I smile at the smell of the pancakes. The sizzle of the bacon makes my stomach growl, considering I barely ate anything yesterday.
"Someone's hungry." My dad says.
"Yeah, well It's not my fault! I just cant keep it in!" I retort, barely able to conceal my smile.
"Hey, I give up, just sit down." My dad holds his hands up in surrender.
I skip over to the kitchen table and sit down with a plop.
My mom drops my full plate of breakfast and I gobble down the helping in 10 seconds. I start on my second helping instantly.
"So, what are we going to do today?" I ask, talking through mouthfulls.
"Eat with your mouth closed please." My mother says, being very strict. I swallow the last bit of food on my plate. "Anyway, we were thinking of going to the bowling alley to celebrate your birthday. Does that sound okay?"
"Okay?! That sounds great! But when we get back can I open presents?" I reply.
"Whatever you want sweetie." My dad chuckles at my childishness.

I finish my third helping of breakfast. Before I even finish chewing my last bite, I run out of the room and dash upstairs, willing myself to get dressed as fast as possible.
I chose to wear a plain blue tank top, ripped and faded skinny jeans, and of course my black converse. Before I leave my room I brush my hair again, making sure there are no tangles.
While brushing my straight hair, I think about what bowling will be like. I love is so much. I would do it everyday if I could. I especially love winning. If I feel like I won't win, I make sure I do, no matter what it takes. Even if I have to cheat because there is no other way.
When I am finished I dash out of the room and get to the car as fast as possible. I even end up waiting at least ten minutes for everyone else to hurry up.
