I woke up in the morning very tired. I got no sleep last night. But I think I sorted everything out. I am a witch. I am adopted. My parents were a witch and wizard. I have been invited to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. My parents were killed by a d-death eater named Lucius Malfoy. Sounds completely normal. Or maybe not. Either way, it's true. I still can't get over the fact the my parents are dead. Although it isn't as bad as if I actually knew them, but still. Plus, all this witchy stuff is driving me insane, sure it explains some things, but for me to actually be a witch, is just unreal.
Than I realise something. I haven't even read my Hogwarts letter! I sprint downstairs. My parents are both on the couch, talking in whispers. They straighten their backs as soon as they see me. I see the Hogwarts letter sitting on the coffee table, and grab for it. I rip open the seal and pull out the letter. We are pleased to accept you into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry... Enclosed is a list of the supplies you will need. The supplies were the strangest things ever. I need so many strange things like a wand and a... cauldren?
"I want to go." I say to my parents, very sure of myself.
"Are you sure?" My parents say in unisen.
"Yes. I want to go." I repeat.
"Well, okay..." They say in unisen again.
"The letter said you can get me to Diagon Alley. Do you have someone to take me?" I ask, being very impatient.
"Yes, we can get him right now if you'd like..." My father trailed off as my mother shot a stern look that said, 'give her some time.' He sighed and nodded. "We will get you there before school starts, maybe in about a month."
I sigh and nod. I guess I understand. They want to give me time for everything to sink in. But I really want is a distraction. With learning all the information about my biological parents, I need something to take my mind off it. But I guess I can wait. Time heals all wounds.
* * *
About a month later:
"Oh man! I can't wait to see Diagon Alley! I've read so much about it!" I squeal.
The doorbell rings, and I suspect it's the man that is taking me to Diagon Alley. I make my way over to the door and peek around my dad at the man standing there. He is old, very old. He has a long white beard and half-moon spectacles. He is also wearing strange silverrobes. I suspect magical people wear them.
"Hello there! I'm Albus Dumbledore, and you must be Alexandra." He chirps
"It's just Alex. Nice to meet you." I reply politely.
"Well, Shall we get going then?" He asks, looking at both me and my father expectantly.
"Yes you should, just one moment." Dad says, pulling out an old key. "It's the key for your bank vault at Gringotts wizarding Bank." He explained.
I smiled in thanks and took it from him. I grabbed my purple sweater and stepped outside with Dumbledore into the cool, fresh air.
"Grab my arm." He says. I don't ask questions, I just do what he says.
I feel like I am being compressed through an tiny tube, I can hardly breathe. Than, as quick as it started, it stopped. I sighed in relief, but I felt something coming up into my thoat. Bile. I run to the nearest bush and vomit into it.
"That's normal for most people to vomit the first time, you know." Dumbledore reassures me.
He guides me over to a wall behind a building called 'The Leaky Cauldren'. He taps the bricks on a wall in a specific order, than suddenly, a door appears. We walk through it and end up on a street. It's amazing. There are so many shops, and there is such a big crowd of people. I lookaround in awe, but someone taps my shoulder. I turn, and Dumbledore stands there. Behind him, there is a group of people, all with red hair. At the front is a friendly looking woman.
