I came out of potions class, walking beside Hermione.

So far, at least 30 people have complimented my hair. Including some Slytherins. It's been a pretty good day. I haven't even been bothered by a certain Malfoy boy, thank god.

As Hermione and I make our way to Transfiguration class, a figure comes up beside me, looming over me, kind of creepily. I look over to see Damien Larmen, a 5th year Ravenclaw. I have never really spoken to the guy, before today anyway. He seemed nice enough, I guess, but he always seems to be surrounded by slutty Hufflepuff girls, so I tend to steer clear of the guy.

I suppose you could call the guy handsome, in a boy-next-door kind of way, but he is nothing compared to Draco. Wait, why and I comparing this guy to Draco? I shake my head to rid the thought.

Damien has short brown hair that match his brown eyes perfectly. He has an oversized nose, which is his worst feature. He does have a chiseled chin, though. Damien always seems to have a permanent smile on his face. He is pretty muscular, but it's kind of too much. He also has rather tanned skin, like a surfer, I guess.

"Hey, Alex." He says.

I nod in acknowledgement. "Hi."

"So, um, I'm kind of having a party tonight, for fourth years and above." He starts. "I was wondering if you wanted to come. It's at Ravenclaw tower."

I contemplated his offer for a few seconds. But then I thought, what the heck? I may as well have fun. "Sure, that sounds great." I say with a smile.

Damien grins at me. "Good. It's at 9:00. You can bring whoever you want, as long as they are fourths years and above. Someone will be there to let you in."

He practically skips away.

"Well that was interesting." Hermione says.

We both burst out laughing.

"Agreed." I reply, and we keep on giggling until we get to the Transfiguration classroom.

I sat in front of the fire in the Gryffindor common room in my free class before dinner. Around me are Harry, Ron, Seamus, Dean, and Hermione. We were talking about how stupid our potions homework is, since we have to do a 5000 word essay on the ingredients and the instructions to make ten different potions that can change someone's appearance. Hermione wasn't participating in the conversation, because she was working on the essay, very typical for her.

"So far I only have two potions that I can use!" Dean exclaimed.

"Well at least you have something! I don't have a clue what to do!" Ron replied, exasperated.

I sniggered at the boys, knowing that I had ten great potions in my head to use for this assignment.

"Hey, Alex? I don't suppose you could share your ideas?" Seamus asked me hopefully.

"No way, Finnigan! It's your essay!" I let out a laugh as I said this.

Seamus stuck out his lip in a pout.

"Oh, guys? I completely forgot, I was invited to a party tonight."

"Wow, Alex. You are sooo popular. You got invited to a party!" Harry said sarcastically with a smile.

"Oh haha, Potter." I said with my nose in the air. "Anyway, I was told I could bring people. You guys can come if you want. It's at 9:00, Ravenclaw tower.

"Sure Alex, sounds fun." The boys all chorused, and all agreed to come.

"Uh, Alex, we have this essay to finish. You really think it's a good idea to go to a party?" Hermione asked, unsure.
