I struggled for a few moments and then got myself together. I stood up tall and marched out the door. Everyone was there waiting and staring at me. My body language immediately shrunk as I shuffled to the back of the pack towards my friends. I could see Jack and his friends snickering at me out of the corner of my eye. My face went red as I caught Brock's smirking face. A laugh dancing around his lips. If I could roll my eyes to the back of my head I would. Daisy gave me a playful bump to the shoulder. "What was that about?" She giggled, fawning over Brock. "Nothing" I groaned, giving her the side eye. The teacher began calling out the groups we were assigned for today's excursion. "Carol, James, Brock, and Mary in group 2" He called out. Thank goodness I'm not with him, I don't think I could handle another encounter. "Jack, Samuel, Danny, Caitlin, and Chandler. You guys will be a group of 5 but no matter, it'll all work out" My attention snapped to him as my name was called, along with Jack. A few butterflies filled my stomach as he shot me a wink. But before I could walk over Cailin linked her arms through mine and tore me away. "OMGGGG, I'm so glad we're in a group together! I thought I was going to be stuck alone with all of the boys," she laughed. Jesus this girl is annoying. Me and her had been friends for a couple years now. Well friends is a loose term, she's been in my friend group for a few years. Nobody really likes her though, except Daisy, but that's not much of a surprise considering she likes everyone. "Yay," I said platonically, trying to signal I didn't really want to talk. She clearly didn't get the message. "Don't you just love school trips? I know I do, they're so fun. And we get to be with boys, not that any of them like me anyway. And I'm so excited we're with friends, most of the time I have to hang out with my dumb family and stupid brother. He's soooo annoying, don't you just hate it when people are annoying?" Yes. I do, so why don't you shut up and leave me alone. I spaced out as she continued blabbering on. My mind tracing back to Brock's hands. The way they felt against my skin. Teasing me gently. Ah fuck, there's not way I'm actually thinking about Brock's hands, though they are quite... promiscuous. Fuck, fuck, fuck. I pulled myself out of my own head just in time to prevent myself from running into Jack. "You alright?" He asked as he looked at me. I sank into his eyes. They had a small sparkle in them. "Blue" I said then slapped my hand across my mouth. His chuckle was full hearted as he smiled at me. "Yes, my eyes are blue. Quite an astute observation there."
"What I meant to say was hi"
"Hello"
"Hi"
"As enjoyable as this is, it appears we've got to go," He took a hold of my hand and led me outside to the other students. God I hated myself for being so easily flustered.
