Mr. Williams began directing all of us and we all followed complaisantly. After a brief safety lesson from not only Mr. Williams but from the guy actually guiding our boat we started boarding the boat. It was narrow and reminded me so much of the ones you'd often see in pictures or movies. The front of it peeled upwards into a sort of design shape and I was admiring it as I sat down near the back. "Chandler" a deep voice spoke next to me and I saw Jack standing there grinning. "Can you not hear anything anyone says? Mr. Williams wants us to be in our groups, we're up at the front." He chuckled as I shook my head and he scooted people over to the side to let me through. I thanked him with a smile and walked up. "Jeez, don't be so stupid" an even deeper voice spoke to my right as I was walking by people. My eyes met with Brocks and I just turned away. I can't wait to put this bitch in his place after I win. I took my place at the front of the bus and to my surprise Jack actually sat next to me. "What's with the face?" he asked. "I didn't think you were actually sitting next to me," I replied. "Wow, you really think that low of me? I wouldn't lie to you." he said with a playful hurt tone. My heart did a little flip flop on his last sentence as he looked at me. I felt a tug on my hair and I turned to see Brock sit right behind me with the fakest smile plastered on his face. "Isn't your group supposed to be somewhere else?" I asked "Aw, don't you know I got sick on boats so I need a front seat? Our teacher let me sit up here out of the kindness of his heart" he said sarcastically. "What are you even talking about bro, you never get boat sick, we literally went on like ten a few months ago on a trip with our families." Jack said, his attention now on me and Brock's conversation. Brock's face lit up with a hint of fakeness "I just wanted to be with you," he said in a platonic tone. But Jack seemed to fall for it and gave him a pat on the shoulder before turning around. Danny was sat next to Brock and they started up a conversation soon after.
Jack and I talked and after a while he had me laughing so hard it was difficult to breathe. "Jeez, I'm going to pass out if you- you keep making me laugh" I managed out. I leaned back, trying to take a deep breath in and hit Brock right behind you. "Oops sorry," I said quickly. "Seems Jack's quite the comedian" Brock says sarcastically, throwing Jack a look of disapproval. Jack goes silent and cocks his head at Brock. "Dude what's your problem? You've been pissed off ever since the bus ride." Jack responds. "And fairs fair" he whispers at him. Quiet enough that I had to strain my ears to listen.
