The girls walked ahead of us, sharing secrets and giggling to themselves every once in a while.
"Are you guys plotting something?" I ask, letting curiosity consume me.
"Only a little bit. Lils here is gonna ask Connor out tonight." Beth replies and Lilith shushes her.
"Shhhh it's supposed to be a secret." She says through drunken speech. They clearly pregamed harder than Oli and I. Beth can hold her own pretty well, so she'll be able to take care of Lilith if need be.
"We won't tell." I say fake whispering, and laughing with her.
The walk is fast, and you can hear the music from the end of the block. There are already plenty of people inside, which makes us perfectly on time. Oli and I offer to get drinks for everyone, mostly because we want to start Lilith off light. By the end of the night we won't have track of her at all, so we better keep up for now.
The kitchen is packed with people chatting and laughing, some people already feeling the effects of their drinks. I get four cups and make up drinks, and hand two to Oliver.
"What's in it?" He questions before taking a sip.
"Don't worry about it, they're all the same. The two you're holding aren't as strong as these ones; they're for the girls." I say. Beth can help herself to more when she pleases.
"Smart, keep them light for now." He says.
"Yeah, as always. I've kind of got this bystander thing down." I reply smiling. We make our way back to the girls and give them their drinks. They find their way to the back yard and Oli and I find empty seats on the couch.
There's a large group here playing truth or dare, and we decide to join in for now. We'll escape soon enough and go back to Oliver's.
"Oliver truth or dare?" Laila, a girl in my 3rd period class asks.
"Uh, dare." He replies shyly, though he's starting to loosen up after having a drink.
"I dare you to kiss Toby." She replies slyly; if only she knew.
I look at him and he pulls me in, giving me a messy kiss. He runs his hand through my hair and down my side. Though this is all for the game, I can't help but feel my heart beat grow faster. We finally pull away after about 30 seconds, and everyone's staring. Thank god the lights are low; I'd scream if people could see my face bright red.
"Alright then, Connor truth or dare." Oliver continues on with the game.
"Dare." He says without question.
"I dare you to chug your drink." He says, and Connor does. That's possibly the easiest dare ever; Oli's never been one for party games.
"Toby truth or dare?" A girl called Genevieve asks me after about 4 more people.
"Dare." I say after hesitating slightly.
"Hmm... I dare you to do a body shot off of Oliver." She says, which earns a ton of oohs and aahs from everyone playing. Anyone who knows me even slightly would assume I wouldn't do that. Drunk me might though, and lucky for her I'm feeling quite drunk.
"Easy." I say and Oliver turns to face me.
"Wait seriously?" Connor asks. "You'll do a body shot? Who even are you? Have you switched bodies with Toby?" He asks laughing.
"No, I'm Toby." I respond. "Lay down." I say to Oliver, and he does. I unbutton his shirt and pour tequila onto him, salt on his chest, and put a lime in his mouth. I lick the salt, drink the shot, and take the lime from his mouth with my own. He looks absolutely stunned. "Next." Everyone just claps and cheers, and I feel my cheeks go red. Maybe that was too much.
