I groaned as I walked into school alongside Scott. I hated that I just had very possibly the worst night of my life and now I had to go to school the next morning. I was so tired. I, however, was still happy we all got out alive and everyone was okay.

Even Deaton.

I didn't even know how he managed to get out of the duct tape but when we made it outside, he was sitting in the back of an ambulance with some paramedics.

Derek's body also wasn't where the Alpha flung him so we could only assume that he was still alive.

And last but not least, Allison broke up with Scott last night. I didn't see that coming honestly. I thought they would've argued a little more or something but she called it off. She said she felt like she couldn't trust him, which I understood honestly. My brother was a terrible liar. It didn't take a genius to figure out we were lying our asses off. So I knew that meant that Lydia knew that we knew more than we were letting on.

As for me and Lydia, we never actually got to talk after last night. Her mom came to pick her up before we had the chance to talk about everything that had happened. I wanted to know what she thought about it all. But most importantly, I wondered if she was okay. What happened last night was traumatic, even for the ones who knew what was going on. Being chased like that, running for your life in incredible fear, it had to have messed with her at least a little bit. I was trying to figure out the perfect time to pull her aside today but I could never seem to find her alone. I knew she was the most popular girl in school but she was really popular.

It was so predictable of me to fall for the most popular girl in school. But I didn't like her for the reasons everyone else liked her. I appreciated her for different reasons. I hoped that she knew that.

I sighed as I sat down next to Scott in the back of Mr. Harris' class. I could tell we both weren't in the mood to talk today. He had to focus on keeping his heart rate down because the full moon was tonight. It was his first one since the very first one which meant we had to prepare this time.

I saw Stiles send me a small smile as he sat on the other side of me, my eyebrows rising in surprise. I'm pretty sure that was the first time he's actually smiled at me in like a week.

I watched as Allison sat at the front of the class, not sparing a look at any of us. Scott got out of his chair, making his way to her seat. "Allison." He said, the girl looking up at him even though she clearly didn't want to talk.

"Mr. McCall, please take your seat." Mr. Harris demanded, causing Allison to look back down at her desk. Scott made his way back to sit next to me. I sent the boy a sad smile as he slouched in his chair, looking like he wanted to cry.

Class quickly started as Mr. Harris prepared to hand out the test papers. I opened the small pocket in my bag, looking for a pen. I saw a yellow sticky note sitting at the top. I grabbed it in confusion, lifting it up to read it:

Good luck on the test, I know you can do it!

Just don't forget that the symbol for Silver is "Ag", you always forget that one :)

- Lydia

I smiled to myself, shaking my head as I put the note away. That girl, I swear. She was gonna make sure I passed this test if it was the last thing she did. It was kind of sweet how much she cared. I mean, she left a note in my bag to remind me about the symbol of some stupid element on the periodic table. I have no idea when she put it in there but still.

"You have 45 minutes to complete the test." Mr. Harris started. "25% of your grade can be earned right now simply by writing your name on the cover of the blue book." Me and Stiles immediately wrote our names on the cover. "However, as happens every year, one of you will inexplicably fail to put your name on the cover, and I'll be left yet again questioning my decision to ever become a teacher." I squinted in annoyance, wondering what his point was. All he did was call us imbeciles 24/7. "So let's get the disappointment over with. Begin." He said, clicking the button on his stopwatch.
