CHAPTER XVIII

Irene's POV

"Mom! I want to go to Auntie Joy's place." I heard Amy shouted from her room. Now that's new.

"Why?" I asked. It's the first time she asked to go there, usually she just get dragged. I see her getting out of her room.

"Auntie Wendy will be there, I want to go see her." I look at Amy, she's already staring, it's like she's expecting me to be shock at her words. "Mommy won't be there mom." with that I continued what I was doing, until Amy called again.

"Mom, what happened the other night?" that made me face her again. "Did you and mommy had a fight when you two left?" It's the first time she asked me what happened. she's been cold to me since that night. I know the scene that I did was wrong, but I wasn't expecting my daughter to be that upset by it.

"I--we-uuhm"

"You did." Amy let out a sigh. Seulgi's right! I can't really lie to Amethyst. "Mom, is it serious? The thing between you and mommy... Are you serious about her?" Amy settled beside me.

"I am serious about her, Amethyst." I said, without any hesitation. I smiled at her. "I think I fell in love with her already. No, I am in love with her. I'm sure of that."

"In just a few weeks mom?" I chuckled at her question.

"I don't even know how it happened, love." She giggled. "All I know is that, all of a sudden I just can't stop thinking about her. I already find her smile really fascinating. I love how she's cute and naïve, sometimes, no! most of the time. She tease me a lot, but it's fine. I like how she expresses her emotions, even though sometimes I get clueless when she does that. I love it when she understands me. And I love how she takes good care you." I ruffled Amy's hair as I said that last phrase. I can't believe I just confess to my daughter.

"I'm happy for you mom. I really am." she then hug me. Are we okay now? Suddenly, I remembered something. I let go of her.

"Love, you were the last person Seulgi talked to that night. Was ther--"

"Mom, I don't know where she is." with just that, I know Amy knew that Seulgi left.

Flashback from that night...

"Let's go back?" she said, lets go from the hug, and fix herself. She look at me. Why does it feels like there's still something wrong? I wanted to ask her that but I'm afraid I might trigger her emotions again, she just calmed down. I nodded at her. She guided me back to the car. The ride was dead silent, none of us dared to talk first.

When we arrived back at the restaurant, Mom and Dad left already. Unnie said there was an emergency, which I doubt was true. They both treasure their time too much. Thinking that they'd stay here and wait for me and Seulgi to come back? they'd rather go home and get some work done.

"We need to get going now." Tiffany unnie said giving me and Seulgi questioning looks, before going to Seulgi. "I missed you bear. Maybe next time, we can catch up longer." I see Seulgi giving in to her hug, like it's her comfort. Are they really that close?

"You are not jealous of them, are you?" I felt Taeyeon unnie bump into my shoulder. She had this teasing smile.

"I'm not. I guess I'm just confused." I said honestly. "They're close and yet..."

"You never met Seulgi before?" She finished up my sentence. I chuckled, so did she "Why don't you ask yourself that?" Huh? I was suppose to ask her something, but suddenly my sister spoke.

"What are you both whispering and laughing about?" Tiffany unnie asked. She then give me a hug. "We'll talk next time." she whispered. I'm gonna be honest, that felt like a threat or a warning? God, help.

"Nothing serious Bub. Seulgi." This time Taeyeon unnie hugged her goodbye. "It was nice, seeing you again." she lets go. Next thing they said made me panic. Not again!

"Amethyst is still with the staffs. You know, correcting their--" I didn't let Tiffany unnie finish what she was about to say, I just ran to where my daughter is now.

I can't believe she just talked to the chef, just because she wanted them to cook her pasta like Seulgi's next time. I apologize to the people there. The staffs just laugh. I was about to drag her out when someone just spoke.

"Maybe, your mommy could teach us how she cooked it?" I look at him. He's new. He's looking at me. It seems like he's waiting for a response, then it dawned me. Oh! he thought...

"No, you got it all--"

"Mommy!" Amy lets go of my hold on her and ran to Seulgi, who just entered the kitchen. "I thought you went home already." Amy said, then suddenly she glared at me. What did I do now?

"No love, your mom and I just talked. Your Aunties told me that--" she paused when the guy who just talk earlier speak again.

"Noona." What? I look at him and he looks shock. Then later on I see him running to Seulgi already. "Yah! Why didn't you told me that you quit already? I wanted to contact you but Wendy noona won't give me your number. She said you told her not to." Why do I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't know her?

"Are you--"

"I am, noona." the guy answered, not letting Seulgi finish her question, it's like he already know what she was about to ask. That made Seulgi tense. Now I'm confuse. She look at me.

"Hyun." She had this worried expression now. What's happening?

"Oh! Are they the reason why you quit?" the guy said exchanging her look from me to Amy. Seulgi nodded at what he said. "I'm happy for you, noona." The guy smiled at him, and Seulgi returned that. "As much as I want to catch up with you, bear noona. I'm afraid I have to ask you to leave this place already." He spoke the last sentence, just enough for the three of us to hear. With that Seulgi held out my hand.

"I'll come back. Thank you, Taeyongsshi." Seulgi said to the guy before dragging me and Amy out, until we reach the my car. Amy went in the passenger seat. When Seulgi was opening up the car door for me now, I stop her. She's panicking.

"Seulgi. What is happening?"

"Hyun, I want you to drive home already."

"I'm not--"

"Hyun, please listen to me." She begs. "I promise I'll tell you everything after this. Just this once, stop asking and drive off." This is something serious. I hugged her.

"Seul."

"Hyun." she's desperate already. I kissed her forehead.

"Don't let anything bad happen to you. You still have a lot to tell me." I said before entering my car and drive home. At this moment it looks like, I do need to drive off.

My ride with Amy was just silent. She seemed upset with me. I decided to talk to her once we arrive home. When we arrive home, I went out of the car first. I was waiting for Amy to go out when someone just grabbed my wrist. To my surprise my lips were already planted on someone else's. Fuck! When I look at who it is... my eyes met the eyes that I'm loving to get matched with, these past few days. I pulled her closer to me and returned the kiss.

"God!" We move our faces away, but not letting go with each other, when we heard that. "How may times will I be seeing this?" Amethyst said. I laugh and look at the person in front of me. She's looking at Amy, laughing as well.

"I thought you will be staying there?" I asked her, that made her face me again.

"I just need to do something first." and she turned to look at Amy. "Love, can I talk to you for a moment?" Okay? Seulgi then face me again. I give her a questioning look. "Is it okay?" she asked. If I say no, would she be upset by it?

"I will talk to you Mommy." I heard Amy said. I turn to face her. With the expression planted on her face, I don't think I can go against her decision now. I nodded in defeat. I let go of Seulgi, then walk away. I didn't bother looking back at them, but I admit! I am overthinking already. I mean, what the hell is going on!?
