"Your father got you a private lesson in practicing swordsmanship?" A friend of mine hissed, his eyes widened in surprise and also in worry. He stared at me from head to toe, before scoffing.
Okay, kinda rude but sure, scoff at me.
"What...?" I said, tilting my head. I took a bite of my food, not to bother with the reaction he gave me. "Life in the Sheridan mansion is nothing but boredom so why not try something new..." It's true.
"Are you sure about that? Do you realize that you're five, right?" He asked with a frown as he pointed at my small physique. "A five-year-old practicing with a sword... Are the Sheridans all reckless like you or is it just you...?"
I suddenly remembered in the book where Marah, our dear protagonist, faced a huge-ass eagle without armor and weapons. Plus Victor yesterday, getting a cat off a tree where there's a beehive hanging on it since help isn't an option. So, yeah. I agree.
I wonder if I really caught their blood.
I didn't answer his question to avoid spilling the dark secrets of our family. I have a feeling if I told him, we would be on paper the next day and this kid right here had enough attention from the public.
"Anyway, what's our next class today?"
"Don't change the topic!!!"

"A stick..." I muttered, holding a stick with a blank look on my face. I looked up to my butler with the eyes of why. "A stick..." I repeated as if my sacrifice of asking my father to teach me were all for naught.
"Yes, I heard you, young master," Marcus said, his smile stuck on his face like glue. I don't know if I'm gonna take his smile as something kind or something else. "Your father, the duke asked for me to teach you the basics and here we are, starting with you holding a stick that you can easily lift."
I know I was complaining about how hard my schedule would be and that it would be a hassle but seeing me in this awkward situation where I am now holding a stick, not knowing what to do with it.
"Okay," I said with a sigh, shaking my head to get rid of all the disappointment from my mind. "I'm holding a stick, then what?"
"Young master, as much as you wanted to do this in an instant..." Marcus held his sword up and swung it at a very fast pace that I couldn't even catch up. I then heard something creaking behind him. "... You are still too young to do that kind of skill."
I peeked behind him to see a tree cut down in half. My eyes widened in surprise and amazement. But as much as I wanted to admire them, I look back up at Marcus with a troubled expression. "Uh, Marcus... is it okay to cut a tree in the garden...?"
Marcus blinked and turned in the direction where I was staring, he then lets out a light chuckle. Is that even worth chuckling at??? "I believe I swung it too hard..." He muttered. "We'll get to learn that kind of move, young master."
I frowned at Marcus who is still smiling at me as if he didn't do anything that a normal human couldn't do. Instead of asking more questions that might bring me to a heart attack, I shook my head with a sigh. "Right, let's just get this over with..." I said as I snapped my fingers.
Suddenly the cut tree moved, going back to its trunk to connect. There were no traces of it being cut by my butler, just a normal tree innocently standing there behind. I could at least do this for Marcus since he agreed to teach me. Also, I don't want that stepmother of mine to come running to my room at midnight for some tree getting cut.
