If I could describe the story about Azazel's parents, the word forbidden would suit them.

It is not because they are two different people who have different status and different goals in life. And it is not because both of their families doesn't agree with them.

It is only because despite everything they have challenged, fate still never let them to be together.

Even if they had me.

Growing up, I was always curious how they both fell apart when father kept on telling me how he love mother evenr until now. The way he showed a smile at me while telling me a story about her, everything looked and felt like a fairytale whenever he get to describe her.

And now, that I am standing in front of the letter that might have contained the truth that I wanted to know, I felt my hand tremble as my eyes wandered around the first paragraph, too afraid to read it. I somehow felt the heavy feeling in my heart, gulping and sighing, I was hesitant to do it. I had the courage to find the letter and when I found it, everything just faded away as if it was never there.

Why am I afraid?

I just stood there, holding the letter tightly to force myself to read. This isn't mine to begin with, I should have the strength to face the truth.

Would it be okay?

.

.

"Zel!" Victor called as soon as I have come back to my cell. The letter was hidden on my back. I showed no signs of uneasiness that I have felt earlier as I faced Victor. "Where have you been? Do you know how much I was worried when you left, I... I thought that you decided to leave..."

His voice trailed off when he saw my face. Well, I think I'm not good with hiding my emotions.

"Give me one answer, Victor..." I muttered, my hand reached for the letter that was on my back. I held the crumpled papers so dearly, different of what I did earlier. Victor's eyes followed it and they went wide. "How..." He breathed. "How did you find that...?"

I let out a scoff, ignoring his question. "A letter that was written all for me, only be given when he's at the verge of his death..." I muttered, staring at the papers with such disgust. "Does he think that I would be happy reading it? Does he really thought of me as someone cold?"

"Zel, that's not it..." Victor tried to reason with me but I shook my head to stop him from explaining. "No..." i said with a laugh. "I won't accept this... If he is going to be all dramatic, I won't accept this until his death... I will make sure that he would tell whatever is in this letter with his mouth to me."

"What...?" Victor frowned, tilting his head. It took him a while until he jumped and stared at me with wide eyes. "Zel... Don't tell me..."

I only showed a look, putting the letter back on my back, make sure it is well-hidden. I nodded and lift my finger for the cell to open, using magic, I could just easily get out but that would be lame to show it to the duchess. I would get the chance to show my magic powers to her, it would be something as grand.

I disappeared again for a moment to go and get the diagnosis of father's poison and left to his secret study to make a plan. I didn't know that Victor was silently following me until that we have arrived in the study.

I was reading to find what type of herb or a spell that cause father to be in that state. It didn't took me long to find that father might have indigested a poison hemlock which surprised me. Poison hemlock was one of the poisonous plants that has fatal damage when eaten or come in contact with it, it was amazing that father still could hold onto his life despite all that.
