Cadens' POV

It's been half an hour since Mia's been missing and the wolves are ready. I know Kade's been avoiding me and its starting to piss me off.

I finally cornered Kade after 5 minutes. He was talking to one of the wolves who were in charge of looking after the women and children.

I heard him finish his conversation and he was about to walk off when I quickly intercepted him and stood in front of him with my arms crossed, "Kade, I want to now what is happening to Mia and yes I do know that we are about to fight some Vampires but I cannot concentrate not knowing what happened to Mia, why we're in this fight and having you avoiding me!"

He seemed shocked at first with my tone but his surprised looked turned to one of guilt, "Look I do want to tell you but I don't want you to get killed worrying over it. Mia is in a safe place in fact once we finish this fight we are going to see her. I can't tell you exactly why we're here because even I don't know why! But for now let's just get this fight over with."

He offered me no further information and walked off to his position and shifted to his wolf form getting ready to start the fight. I sighed and walked over to my spot and shifted a third of the army - the part that Kade and I were apart of - we're hiding behind trees or bushes so that way when the Vampires come out from the clearing not to far in front of us we will have an upper hand on the battle. The second part were also further away at the sides of the clearing itself - far away enough so the Vampires won't smell them - so they could close in on their ranks and attack from behind. The last lot were back at the camp basically guarding the place just in case anyone gets past.

I heard rustling in the bushes in front of us so Kade - as the Alpha - and me -as the beta - drew our men away from the bushes and in to the open space effectively making the Vampires freeze and opening themselves up. We quickly took advantage of that and jumped at the opposition making them snap back to attention and begin to fight back.

I lay on my belly in wolf form panting trying to control my breathing we had won the fight without any deaths. We do have some injured wolves but with our quick healing ability we were able to manage. I slowly got up and looked around other wolves were still lying down resting and others were about but there were many of Vampire bodies lying around.

I turned and my eyes me with Kade's I sent him a nod signaling that I will talk to him later. As I shifted and put my clothes back on I couldn't help but think back to the battle and remember the blue eyes and smirk of that one Vampire in the bushes. It was as if he knew something I didn't and he was going to use it against me, he took off quicker than a flash and I was so close of going after him but I was distracted by another Vampire lunging at me.

I shook my head snapping myself out of a daze and saw that everyone was gathering wood to start a fire to burn the dead Vampires. I helped some of the other men place the bodies onto the pile and Kade flicked the match and threw it into the fire. He stood there watching for a few seconds before looking up at me and giving me a smile and walking over towards me.

After the fire died out everyone started drifting back inside. Kade turned away and started to walk off but motioned for me to follow.

I was walking quietly behind Kade then he stopped and called Damien, Caine, Josh and Eric over.

Caine was our third in the pack after me - the beta. Caine and Josh were our best trackers and always ran on the borders searching for signs of rouges.

Eric was our best fighter and trained all our newly changed pack members. I stood around facing Kade sure that my expression was the same as the others who were curious as to why they were called.

"Well as Caiden already knows the girl we found a few weeks ago has been kidnapped," Kade began, I heard the sharp intake of breath by the others whilst my jaw just locked.

"I recieved news that she was safe actually the people to kidnap her I guess you could say, saved us. I was told about the surprise attack from the Vamps."

I was surprised as I hadn't heard this piece of news, but I still didn't understand why Kade didn't tell me this before hand.

"The people who had taken Mia weren't planning on keeping her but were aware of the attack and took her to safety. I still do not know why they took her or why the Vampires attacked but soon we will know. Before anyone freaks remember that these people helped us and that they are different from the things you've all been told they were."

I found myself inpatient to know who had taken Mia good intentions or not. "Kade just tell us!"

He took a deep breath and the next words out of his mouth had us all wondering if he was high, "Rouges took Mia."

We - Damien, Caine, Josh, Eric, Kade and I - we're currently standing in a clearing just inside our pack line. After Kade had told us there was quite a bit of yelling - mostly on my part - but he told us there was more to the story and ordered us to go with him. I knew he wasn't thrilled with having to order us as he likes us to have free will but I guess this was important.

"I thought they were supposed to be here now?" Caine said impatiently.

"They'll be here soon." Kade said not sparing a glance towards him.

As if they heard us a group of people coming out from behind the trees. My eyes were instantly drawn to the petite figure beside a very large man who seemed to be the Alpha of the pack.

I frowned when I realized exactly how close they were. When they came out of the shadows I saw that it was Mia next to the man and checked over her and instantly relaxed when I saw no harm done to her, in fact she seemed comfortable around them... Too comfortable for my liking...

"Hello Alpha Reed, I'm Alpha Daniel Rowes and I am greatly sorry we had to meet on these terms but it was nessasary. No harm was meant by our actions." The Man beside Mia spoke.

"That's OK Alpha Rowes, thank you for letting us know about the attack. Tjanks for protecting Mia for us and now we must go to clean up the mess left behind."

"I'm afraid that you can't do that, Mia is now part of our responsibility and the cause is bigger than every pack in this world."

Everyone tensed and narrowed our eyes to the group of rougues but i couldn't hold back my anger, "Mia is and always will be my-our responsibility and we wont stand here whilst you demand things that your 'pack' dont deserve!"

By now the rouges had moved to a defensive position and had a feral expression on their faces which I'm sure mirrored mine.

Mia decided that it would be good for her to stand in the middle of the two groups and i couldn't help but rest my worried gaze on her but what irked me the most was that Alpha Rowes had the same expression.

"Daniel, Lily, guys relax...imagine it was the other way round and they were asking for access to your 'sacred' land yet had no idea what it was for."

I crossed my arms and wore a smug smile well at least until she turned around to us.

"Caiden, Kade I'm not going anywhere without Daniel and his pack."
