Mia's POV

CHAPTER SEVEN

*********

"What do you mean 'I'm not leaving without them'? Like hell you are!" Caiden snarled, his eyes flashing a darker color.

To say I wasn't afraid would be a lie, right now m terrified, not only because the pack might not accept who I am but that I won't be able to keep the promise I made to Daniels pack.

After taking a deep breath I raised my head and spoke with a voice which I'm proud to say didn't shake, "I mean exactly what I said Caiden I am not leaving this pack."

"What?! Did they force you to say this? Or have the drugs they given you have you brainwashed?!" Caiden exploded with a look that told me he thought I was crazy and honestly the rest of the groups expressions were quite simular. All but Kades expression which was just nuetral but right now none of this was helping my case and it was starting to piss me off.

"Caiden, listen to me, I was not brainwashed nor am I being forced to say this! If you would put a side your opinions just a second and listen maybe you will realise why I'm saying what I'm saying," Caiden was about to say something but I cut him off with one look and continued, "Think about when you found me, how weird it was, why the Vampires are after me and who I am. Well guess what? They," I said pointing towards the rouge pack,"have answers, and right now we could use some."

Caiden's look softened and I saw some of the fight leave his eyes but there was still uncertainty when he looked towards the rogues, "Caiden, trust me ok. I know what I'm doing and I promise you you won't regret it." I said softly - almost pleadingly - and I saw the tension fall from his body and heard him sigh, yet he wouldn't meet my eyes.

Kade took that as his que and turned to Daniel, "Alpha Rowens, I'm prepared to give you access to the land but I expect you to behave exactly as those in my pack do, no matter how different our packs are. We will listen to you but make sure to respect us and we'll in return respect you, now I'm sure you got a lot of hungry mouths and cold bodies so I will get sleeping arrangements organized. We can talk early tomorrow after you all rest."

With that he started to walk away talking on his phone - making calls I expect.

The rest of the group who came with Kade and Caiden walked away - very reluctantly - we started to follow.

We walked for what felt like hours, well it did for me at least. It didn't help that Daniel was standing beside me, so close that occasionally our hands grazed each other - not that I was complaining - but it made the tingles I get play up twice as much as they were now especially with both Caiden and Daniel in such close contact.

I started fidgeting with my hands for a while until I heard a annoyed groan from next to me and a hand was placed on my arm making me shiver as I looked up at Daniels eyes. His sharp blue eyes turned darker with an emotion I couldn't read, whilst I was too busy staring into his eyes I failed to see the log right in front of me and tripped face forward. I closed my eyes expecting to feel the underbrush of the forest floor against my face yet it never came, instead I felt strong arm grip around my waist and pull me backup.

We stayed in that position - Daniel holding me around the waist with his chest against my back - for a few seconds until I turned to face him. As cheesy as it sounds I got lost in his eyes and him in mine and what could have been seconds felt like minutes but it was obviously long enough for some as I had Lily pull me gently yet firmly and say, "Come on, let her go Lover boy."

I blushed slightly as I looked around and saw everyone looking towards us and I heard a low growl from Caiden's direction. I put my head down letting my hair cover my red cheeks and also let Lilly pull me along. That seemed to put everyone back in motion and we were moving once again and soon enough Daniel was walking beside me and Lilly on the other. Daniel and I still sneaked glances at each other but I managed to not trip over anymore logs.
