Mia's POV

All I felt was searing pain. I screamed and screamed but felt no one comfort me. I wished away the pain but no one answered my prayers. I was too scared to open my eyes to see the injury's even if i could have opened them. I couldn't remember how I was given the injury's, I couldn't remember who gave them to me, I couldn't remember why they were given to me, all I could remember was my name but even then I had a hard time remembering. Just forget, my brain whispered. At the same time my heart felt like it was ripped in two.One half screamed, Caiden while the other half screamed, Daniel. I somehow knew that they weren't in my past but that they were my future and I don't know why but i know that if i were to ever survive this pain i have to find them.

Caiden's POV

I lept over the log on the path and turned a sharp left. I was scouting the area as I had been doing for god knows how many years. It was the same every day, running around for hours finding nothing and on a good day maybe finding a trail of rogues but not strong enough to follow... so I almost missed the trail of blood in the bushes. I retraced my steps and smelt the blood, it was probably about an hour old and from the scent it smelt like a young girl. Something was off about the blood though, it smelt sweet yet had a bitter aftertaste.

As i followed the trail I went deeper into the bushes... I heard small whimering although they sounded weak and hoarse as if it had a dry throat. I finally reached the end of the trail but found nothing. I spun in a slow circle and something caught my eye, it looked like a peice of metal. As i moved closer to it the shape of it became more pronounced. It was - as i expected - a girl she looked around 16 from her size and shape but i couldn't tell properly because of the blood and dirt covering her face and features.

She looked like she was in pain and I still heard the whimpering. As I looked at her I couldn't help pity the poor thing but I also felt a twinge of rage at whoever had done this to her. Because no one could have done this to themselves without help and she definetlly couldn't get her arm at that angle from just falling and the metal in that deep without stopping from the pain.

I opened up my mind and sent a message to the other wolf on duty who also happened to be my best friend and the alpha, Kade... you may wanna come check this out. Make sure to bring help, alot of help."

As the beta of my pack I could send telepathic messages out to the alpha and a few other high posissioned wolfs in my pack. I could also send messages to my mate but since I don't have one of those... well you get the point. Because Kade's an alpha he can message anyone in our pack and also alpha's from other pack's as well.

"Uh, OK? Could you send me a visual of the area?" Kade responded. I slowly turned giving him a clear view of the area before showing him the girl on the ground.

When he processed the image I heard him curse. But it wasn't through the connection it was from behind me. I turned to look at him startled but then shook my head, I still couldn't wrap my head around how fast he was. He was staring at the girl with a frown.

He looked at me and changed to human, I followed suit. "Who do you think did this? Rogues?" he asked clearly on the same train of thought that i was on.

"No, if it were Rogues they wouldn't leave her here, too much evidence... plus it's not their style they would make sure we knew it sooner." I explained.

He nodded his head in agreement, "So did you send for help?"

He nodded again. Right on time we saw a group of wolfs break through the gap in the bushes. One of them was holding a first aid kit in its mouth and as it morphed into a human I recognised him as Dr. Drake. He took one look at the girl and shook his head muttering obscenities.

"Can she be saved or is she dead?" Kade asked him. By looking at the girl I suspected the latter and a wave of sadness flew over me, surprising me as well.

Dr Drake looked up at us with his lips in a thin line. "Yes, it's possible that she we can save her only because we were called early enough but still...."

"Ok what's the real problem?" Kale asked.

"It's not if she will survive or how she got this way, it's who made her this way and I think I know but, I really hope it's wrong."

"Rogues?" Kale and I asked at the same time.

Drake looked up with a sadness.

"No... vampires."

Oh, shit.
