CHAPTER TWO

Caidens POV

I sat on the chair in the hospital room while Kade continued to pace at the foot of the bed pausing every now and then to look at the girl. We had since moved from the forest and we were now in the imfirmary waiting for the girl to wake from the coma she was in. She looked like she was sleeping peacefully but it was hard to tell with all the bruises and cuts she was covered in.

But i could still make out the features since all the blood had been washed away. She had dark blonde hair with a few pink highlights and her face was more of an oval, a perfect shaped one not one of those bulimic faces. Her nose was the right size and matched her small thin lips. She looked older now about 17-18 and her figure helped show her age perfectly.

I snapped out of my thoughts when Dr. Drake came in holding test results in his arns. He walked over and looked at the heart moniter and the IV drip and nodded before putting something down on the page.

"How is she?" i asked nervously.

"She's stable for now and she is slowly regaining consiousness, she's healing quickly too quickly so i think she's not human but as for her mental health... well you may want to keep your distance when she does wake."

I frowned, for some reason i hated the idea of being apart from her and the fact that she might not be human excited me but i couldn't put my finger on as to why...

"Did you find out what caused this?" Kade asked.

Dr. Drake's expression turned hard. "Unfortunatly yes i did... as i suspected it was vampires... yeah i know they normally dont do this but either this girl had a angry vamp on her tail or a vamp wanted to turn her possibly both. Either way she just survived and could her heart could possibly fail on her."

i took in a quick breath and looked over at her scared that the heart machine would stop beating. I saw that Kale wasnt to happy with the prospzct either.

I really don't know what i would have done if her heart did fail and i hoped i didn't have to find out.

And that's when the monitor started to beep furiously, causing us to all panic.

Mia's POV

Falling, falling, falling... at least that's what it felt like, like when your floating in the air and there's nothing to grab or hold just thin air.

i started to feel heavier and heavier, my sense of smell gradually came back to me and i kind of got a feel of what was around me.

I felt a soft bed and the warmth of the sun. but i felt a presense which made me feel safe but nervous

i faintly heard a door close and then silence... i was starting to freak out when i heard it, the voice that gave me gooszbumps instantly and made me relax.

i tried to move but i couldn't even open my eyes. i wanted to ask them where i was and what happened. but i couldn't so i just settled fo listening.

How is she?" The voice asked -it sounded male.

"She's stable for now and she is slowly regaining consiousness, she's healing quickly so i think she's not human but as for her mental health... well you may want to keep your distance when she does wake." Said another male voice.

Not human? What are they talking about? I was never the one to believe in the supernatural so why in the world would i believe this?!

"Did you find out what caused this?" a deeper sounding male asked. What's THIS? And how many guys are in this room? Seriously!?

"Unfortunatly yes i did... as i suspected it was vampires... yeah i know they normally dont do this but either this girl had a angry vamp on her tail or a vamp wanted to turn her possibly both. Either way she just survived and could her heart could possibly fail on her."

At the world vampires i started hyperventalating, and i could feel the memorys coming back to me. NO PLEASE NO!

I saw the pale face and blue eyes staring down at me and the reflection of the light in the distance on the peice of metal and i felt the pain in my arm as he shoved the metal in my arm then stop only to smile malichioysly at me and then shove it harder and then the weight of his foot and the sound of the crunch of my arm and my screach of pain. i tried to get away but i couldn't and i panicked way too much.

I couldnt bear the pain and I swear I felt my heart stop, then I started to fall again.

Falling, falling, falling...

Caidens POV

i didn't think i just acted. I jumped to the side of the bed and changed to wolf form, in the back of my mind i registered Kade stepping forward ro stop me and Dr. Drake putting a hand out to stop him, but i was to worried about the girl on the bed.

I bit into her soft skin careful not to break any bones but aware of the monitor slowly going dead. I quickly morphed back to human and bit into my arm and placed it over hers.

I began do chant "By doing this deed, i promise to provide, respect and mean no harm to the one I turn." i repeated this two more times as quick and clear as i could and sealed the wounds shut.

It was so quiet that i began to worry that i had been too late.

"Maybe you were too late?" Kale asked softly.

i felt the tears brimming in my eyes but i refused to look at him. We waited another few minutes until they couldn't bear it anymore.

"That's it! I'm sorry Caiden but you are too late now go clean up you shouldn't see this. That's an order."

Well crap, if it had of been Dr. Drake to ask me i could've ignored it but i couldn't now, not when it came from my alpha.

I sighed and looked one more time at the girl. I stood and walked to the head of the bed and on instinct i kissed her forehead.

"I'm sorry, i wished i could have met you properly."

I felt my own heart stop when the heart machine started up again, not at human pace but at a wolfs pace!

I heard Dr. Drake and Kade gasp and look at the minitor in surprise when I just sank to the floor in relief. We sat their for 5 minutes before any one said anything.

"You know what this means right?" Kade asked.

I turned my head up and looked in his eyes then my eyes rested on the girl.

"Yeah," i said softly, happiness bubbling into me "she's my responsibility."

Well how's the second chapter? i hope it makes sense. Sorry for all the grammar mistakes I write them on my phone on notes and i somehow make alot of spelling mistakes. I'm updating as quick as i can and i thanks to you guys for reading and i hope you enjoy the rest of the book!
