Chapter 6

Currently we're standing in front of a uselessly big building near the center of Xyrus. As we approached the front gate we heard a voice.

"Stop, you're approaching the residence of the royal family, state your name!"

I in response just tossed him the medallion as we continued walking.

"I have a meeting planned with the king, so lead the way."

I said as he confirmed the authenticity of the medallion before leading us through the palace. We walked for about five minutes before we reached two huge doors, the guard entered before us and said.

"Your majesty, we have two visitors who claimed to have planned a meeting with you, and they had general Wykes medallion."

"Very well."

A booming voice said as both me and Varay entered through the massive double doors. As we entered we came face to face with a man and woman who I assumed were the king and queen sitting on lavish thrones. The wall was lined with guards who seemed tense, and to the left of the king was another white core mage that seemed to be about 80. I turned my gaze back to the king.

"You said that you wanted to discuss something with me but never told me what exactly you wanted to discuss. Mind telling me why exactly I'm here?"

My voice came out as tired and uncaring and both the king and the old man frowned at my disrespect.

"Yes, I did want to talk with you, however I was told that it was a dragon that ruled over the hell field, not a human."

I just sighed before saying.

"First, I am the dragon that rules over the hell field, and second I'm more of a demon or devil than a dragon."

As i said that a guard stepped forward and yelled.

"How dare you lie to the king!!!"

And raised his sword to attack us. However his attack was cut short as he was covered in black flames and burnt to nothingness in seconds. I turned back to the king and said.

"Now do you believe me?"

He just coughed and said.

"Yes, that was plenty to prove your identity. Now I would like to talk to you about your goals and whether you're a friend or foe. So do you mind elaborating on what you plan on doing with the power you've acquired."

I caught a hit of jealousy and greed in his voice but chose to ignore it and said.

"I really have no concrete goal other than to get stronger, survive, and enjoy life. And as long as you and the other humans don't do something that pisses me off, I won't involve myself in your affairs. Although if I had to tell you one thing it's that every human that's sent into my domain will die, no exceptions."

The king thought about my words before saying.

"I have a preposition for you."

I raised my eyebrow and signaled for him to continue.

"We will stay out of your domain and even let you roam free in Sapin, in return I'd like you to help clear S and SS rank dungeons that are at risk of overspilling into human territory."

I thought about it for a second before saying.

"I'd like two more things in addition to those you mentioned. First I'd access to all magic related libraries in Sapin weather they're owned by you or someone else."

He nodded, signifying that if can be done.

"My second request is that I'd like to be made a 'Grand Duke' in Sapin. You don't need to give me any territory in Sapin, and you can just mark the hell field as my dukedom, but I'd like to have the trading rights and privileges that come with the title."

He looked slightly troubled at my second request but finally nodded before saying.

"In order to make you a grand duke you'll have to give me your name and what you want to be your house crest."

I just realized that I don't have a last name... I'll just come up with one.

After thinking for a moment I said.

"Very well my name is Lucifer Katastrofi, and I'll give you a picture of what I want my crest to be next time we meet." (A/n Katastrofi means Destruction in Greek. Also give me ideas for what you think his crest should look like.)

After that, we talked a bit more before me and Varay left the palace.

We walked through the city making our way to the adventures guild, our reason for this is because we decided that since we have to hunt a bunch of mana beasts, we may as well sell the extra beast cores.

We finally reach a huge building surrounded by humans with each holding a weapon of staff. We made our way through the crowd and entered the guild. The interior was what you'd expect of a guild, there were people sitting at a bar eating and drinking while there were also people trying to recruit new members shouting out what they were looking for.

As we walked through the crowd to approach the front counter I noticed many lewd gazes directed at Varay.

Maybe I should just kill them all.

I thought as I watched a burly man approach us. He looked at me for a second before turning to Varay and saying.

"Hey, by the looks of it you're new to adventuring, if you want you can join our party. We promise to treat you nicely~"

As I heard those words I released my killing intent and watched the man's legs buckle in front of me.

"Get out of my way you lesser."
