Clarke's POV
I had noticed Bellamy hanging out with me more over the past few days. He had cut his ties with Raven, who wouldn't stop giving me death stares. I didn't particularly care about her jealousy, but i enjoyed the opportunity to piss her off with the protection of Bellamy.
he had introduced me into Finn's group, along with Jasper, Monty, Murphy and Fox. I had never really belonged to a group at school before, as i had mainly been focused on my studies. It was nice to feel like a few people actually cared about me.
We were all sitting in a circle on the lawn during lunch, talking about what we all wanted to do that weekend. There were various ideas varying from a movie night to a trip to Vegas, but we all decided on a camping trip down to Mount Weather.
"who's gonna drive? It's at least 2 hours" Fox asked
"I guess i could drive half" Bellamy suggested, "all we need is one more driver and we're set"
"Dad's out of town this weekend, so the other car should be free" said Finn.
We all nodded in agreement, excited for what this weekend would bring us.
Bellamy's POV
i had watched Finn edge closer to Clarke from where we were sitting. It's not like i had a problem with it, i had heard about his crush on Raven and assumed he was trying to get back at me for having her like me. Unfortunately for him, I don't like Clarke in that way.
I had agreed to drive up, in the hopes it would spark competition with Finn, so we would ride up separately. allowing me to keep and eye on the princess and making sure she was careful around spacewalker. He sure had his head out of this Earth most of the time.
Friday came and we all met up at Finn's with our packs and tents. We piled everything into our cars and decided who would go in which car. Luckily for me, Jasper and Monty chose Finn's car as they wanted to show him their new moonshine creation, leaving only one space and Clarke wanted to be with Fox. they both threw their bags in my trunk and Clarke didn't make eye contact with me as she jumped in the backseat, Murphy sitting in the passengers side.
One hour into the trip, i was getting tired and asked Murphy to swap seats with me as we were pulling into a gas station. I filled up the tanks and everyone else went inside to buy snacks and forgotten supplies that they needed. When i was finished with the gas, i headed to the entrance, pulling my wallet outof my back pocket, making sure that i had enougb cash to pay. i must have been too mesmerised by my cash that i didn't see Clarke coming out after purchasing her items, and i completely bumped into her. I held her waist to keep her from falling, as was about to pull away as she steadied herself by placing her hand on my forearm.
"Uh, thanks, again" she blushed, looking down.
i smiled to myself on the inside, not wanting to show that i liked that she didn't completely hate me.
I glanced down at what was in her hands, amused.
"potato chips, chocolate bars, energy drinks and beer" enough to last me a week or two, i decided not to add.
"well i don't know how well you can cook" she said so innocently, i almost missed the underlying sarcasm.
"i cook very well, thankyou very much" i smiled at her
"then i guess you don't get any of this" she said as she made her way back to the car, "oh and Fox wants to sit in the front so she can pick the music. looks like you'll be next to me."
"oh joy" i joked sarcastically, grinning the entire way back to the car.
