Clarke's POV

I didn't hear a thing. I only felt the impact throw me back into the wall. Hard. Screams filled the grounds as students rushed to get outside to see what happened while others crammed themselves inside to protect themselves. I was curled up at the base of the wall, crushed by a piece of debris blocking my path out. My eyesight was hazy and I couldn't make out anything clearly, only the spot of fire barely 3 metres away from me, indicating that whatever fell was aimed near me.

I climbed to my feet, gripping the wall the balance myself. I tried to avoid the shards of glass that came form the shattered windows but I tripped my way through the rubble.

What the heck is going on?

Teachers came running out of the school to herd everyone they could inside. Sirens filled the air and tore my focus away from the sounds of continuous explosions.

An ear piercing scream rang through the scene and it took me a few moments to realise that it was my name being called. By Raven.

"There you are" she huffed, grabbing my arm but I shook it free from her grip

"What are you doing?"

"Well I'm trying to save you but you're looking at me as though I just grew an extra ear. Come on." She grabbed my arm again and this time refused to let go - despite my attempts - and dragged me through the school yard.

"Where are we going?" My vision was still slightly off as was my balance which was prevalent as I stumbled through the school.

"First I'm getting you to Lincoln and he'll take you from th-"

"Who?" I interrupted her, "I'm not going with someone who I don't know. I don't even know what's going on here! First some bloody explosion happened that seemed to be targeted on me and now you're acting as though we've been friends our entire lives!" I stopped in my tracks and was able to finally tug my arm free "I just want someone to tell me what's going on here!"

Raven took a step closer to me and put both of her palms towards me and raised them to the middle of her chest as though I was a child that she had to calm down, but it was only riling me up more. "Clarke, I know we've had our differences bu-"

"Differences?! You hate me and have dedicated your high school years to make my life miserable every chance you get! And you haven't even told me why!"

This time she lowered her hands and looked more annoyed that anything, Ah, that was the Raven I knew.

"This isn't a time for your petty high school thoughts, Clarke! I need to get you out of here otherwise Abby is going to have my ass and you're really not helping!"

My eyes widened and narrowed at the recognition of my mother's name. "Why my mother? What has she got to do with this?" My heart began racing in my chest and I swear I could feel it in my ears.

"Nevermind that now" Raven stated so calm it surprised me. "I just have to get you to Lincoln and I swear you'll never see me again."

I considered my options and weighed the best one out. Stay with the girl who made high school hell for me or go with some complete stranger that apparently knows my mother and is part of who-knows-what with her. I chose the latter.

"Fine," I breathed out "take me to Lincoln."

We raced further through the school and dove through all the doorways, trying to dodge the obstacle course of people scattered through the hallway all terrified and waiting to hear what happened.

"Here!" Raven called out in front of me, I had to get past the worried looks of everyone I knew in this high school and leave them behind. Why me? Why was I the only one who was able to get out? What did this all have to do with?

I bolted for the door just in time to hear another explosion about to happen. I braced myself for the worst, knowing that it was coming for me and I felt the impact of being thrown against a wall again. This time my legs were in so much pain it was difficult to even move them around to see the damage. Blood. There was blood everywhere and I couldn't tell if it was mine or those of the people who had come around to help.

"Everyone out!" A strong voice boomed out, sending the crowd into a mad scatter back into the hallways. "You've got to be more careful with who can see you, Princess." the voice that was now attached to a figure directed at me

I willed my eyes to focus on who was in front of me, standing so calmly. That name had shot through me like a bullet and I knew exactly who I wanted it to be but I knew it couldn't be true. How many days/weeks had it been? But my eyes shut out everything around us until they only showed him.

"Bellamy?" my eyes widened in disbelief and I winced at the pain that was caused from the motion of me trying to move my body out of instinct just to be closer to him

"Come on, Princess, let's get you out of here." He knelt down beside me and slipped his arms so easily underneath me, scooping me up while he cradled my head in the crook of his arm, careful not to make me move too much. He walked through the back of the school as if he knew it like the back of his hand in the few weeks he attended. We went through the back doors together where a jet black SUV was parked, a man standing out the front of the drivers side on the phone. He had his back to us but turned it as soon as Bellamy stepped closer to him he turned around to face us as though he sensed we were here.

The man I assumed was Lincoln snapped his phone shut and crossed over to us. As he came closer my eyes widened at him "Lincoln? You're Lincoln"

He stepped back, bending his arms back to show off his physique "The one and only" he smirked

"I thought you were Octavia's boyfriend" My voice became smaller as I felt Bellamy's arms tense around my body. I guess he didn't know

"Boyfriend?" I could practically feel him glaring at Lincoln who just simply stared back and shot me a quick glare before regaining his calm and collected demeanor. "I thought you were just partners?"

He went to answer but I beat him to it "Partners in what? What the hell is going on?" I squirmed in Bellamy's arms but they remained tense around me.

The boys shared a look and nodded, walking around to the passengers seat. Lincoln opened the door and Bellamy placed me in so carefully, as if he though he was going to break me. "What's going on?" I demanded to Bellamy once Lincoln was out of ear shot on his way to talk to Raven who was apparently frantic about losing me.

"If I told you, I'd have to kill you Princess" he played but his face remained tense.

"Bellamy" I frowned. His face softened when I said his name and he placed his hand on my thigh.

"It's not safe for you to know right now, but I promise you that you will find out. I will not let them hurt you." he motioned to Lincoln as they swapped placed, Lincoln now at the car and Bellamy now at Raven.

"He's not coming with us?" I questioned Lincoln one he jumped in the driver's seat

"He wasn't even supposed to come today, consider yourself lucky" he kept his gaze forward and I stole a glance at Bellamy as we were pulling out.

"Goodbye" I whispered before I cried myself to sleep.
