Clarke's POV
the rest of the ride there was a mixture of laughter and confusion. I didn't know how to feel about Bellamy, although i was certain i didn't want to get too close to him, i didn't want to be too distant either.
half an hour away from the mountain, i drifted off to sleep. The car going over the dirt road jolted me awake, shaking the entire car from the unsmooth surface.
I yawned and snuggled my head further into my pillow, i didn't want to wake up yet. I soon realized that i hadn't brought a pillow with me. My eyes sprung open, when my pillow started playing with my hair.
Somehow throughout the trip, i had made my way over to Bellamy's arms, and i was nestled perfectly in them. i rolled over to look at his face, making sure that he wasn't awake to see this. When i did, his eyes were already open, looking right at mine. He smiled a tired smile, continuing to play with my hair.
"Morning, princess."
I sat up straight and shuffled back to my side of the backseat, leaving Bellamy's arm in the position when it was around me. He glanced at me before he straightened himself up as we approached the clearing we were setting up our camp.
As everyone else was unpacking the cars, i went exploring deeper into the forest. I walked through the shrubs and past the trees, eventually finding another clearing, where i stopped to admire the view.
I could see out into the city, the grid of the houses alight from the street lamps. I smiled at the sight, looking out past the water.
I felt an arm slip around my waist and i looked to my side to find Finn looking out at the sight i had found. He smiled at me and brought his arm down to my hand, interlacing our fingers. With his other hand, he pushed his hair behind his ear,
"Why haven't we ever hung out before?" he looked at me sheepishly.
"I don't know," i giggled, my heart racing. What is happening to me?I could feel my hand getting clammy and i was becoming more and more nervous.
"Maybe it was a good thing Bellamy came along."
Bellamy. He had completely escaped my mind for the few minutes i had spent away from the group.
"Bellamy, why?" I wasn't sure where he was going with this.
"Yeah, he kind of.. brought us together" he grinned and squeezed my hand.
I opened my mouth to say something, but Finn covered it with his. His hand went up to my face, holding it to his. We moved our mouths together, and angled our heads to one another. I pulled back, not sure how to handle this situation. He looked at the ground, pink flushing his cheeks, embarrassed.
He was about to say something, when a snap of a tree branch in the forest caused us to shift our gazes. Bellamy and Murphy both appeared from where they had been exploring.
"My my, what do we have here?" Murphy cocked an eyebrow and smirked at us as Bellamy's jaw clenched.
Finn dropped my hand and we made our way towards them, heading back to camp.
"None of your business." Finn sneered at Murphy, bumping his shoulder as we walked past them. They followed close behind us, not saying a word the entire way back.
