June 8th, 2015:

We were up early in the morning to shoot the Dope music video. I had died my hair to dirty blonde, removing the starker blonde streaks and unifying the overall colour.

I was currently changing into my costume for the mv, we were all representing different jobs. Jimin was an office worker, Seokjin a doctor, Jungkook a police officer, Yoongi was a pilot, Hoseok was a race car rider, Taehyung a detective, and Namjoon was a porter. I was a server, wearing a skirt with an apron with two pockets and a white blouse. I had asked for my hair to be in a ponytail with a red polka dot bandana wrapped around my head as an homage to Rosie the Riveter, the icon of the working woman. The styling team was more than happy to accommodate.

We had spent all morning shooting. This video took a lot more coordination on our part as we had to come in and out as well as a lot of acting. The dancing overall was also quite intense too.

I was shooting my scene where I sang my line and slammed a cup down on a table in a scene that was set up similarly to a Parisian corner cafe. I could see Taehyung and Jungkook joking around and making faces behind the camera. I finally get through it and rush to tackle Taehyung.

"Oppa! I'm trying to be serious!" I shout as he stumbles backward.

"I know, that's why it's so funny," Taehyung laughs.

"V!" we hear Sejin shouts to get Taehyung to come to get prepared for his scene.

As he leaves, a behind-the-scenes camera comes up to Jungkook and me.

"Can you explain your outfits?" the cameraperson asks.

"I'm a policeman," Jungkook says looking down at his clothing, "I'll come and get you if you break the law!"

"And I'm a waitress," I smile to the camera, "with a small tribute to Rosie the Riveter who represented the working class 'empowered' woman".

"Is there a reason you wanted to pay tribute to her?" the cameraperson questions.

"Umm, I think it was important to me because Rosie was like the first widespread image of women proving they could do the same as men in the Western world. And, oftentimes, when we talk about issues about labour and the workforce, women and women-dominated fields are often overlooked so it was essential for me to have a subtle message that us women are just as important as men when it comes to labour issues".

"She's too smart," Yoongi who had crept up behind us states, "I swear she should've become a professor or something".

"And yet school is still a struggle," I chuckle, "the irony".

"The school system is made to make us fit into the society the older generation sees for us even if it is outdated and ill-suited to our, and societies, needs," Yoongi replies seriously.

"I'm not sure this is going to make it into the video..." Jungkook mutters.

The cameraperson chuckles.

"I don't edit the video, so I don't know," they reply.
