hi everyone,

this chapter is based on the song 'Wildest Dreams' by Taylor Swift, so I recommend listening to it while you read this. It's also in 2nd person POV.

Y/n's POV:

"I think we should get out of the city for a bit. I know a cool place without any of these crowds." And how could you say 'no' to such an offer from your nearly boyfriend. To state the obvious, you were romantically involved, but no one was supposed to know of it, not as long as you both weren't ready to tell everyone. That's how you landed here, in a cabin near some lakes, alone with Kit and your thoughts.

The Realisation hits you on your second day, you went out swimming with Kit. Nothing lasts forever, but this will take me down. He's stood there, near the water, in all of his glory. He looked as beautiful as ever and you suddenly realized that even if he was bad for you, he was too good at being bad for you to let him go.

That's one of the first memories that you remember when someone asks you about your situationship with the lovely, infamous Kit Connor. This and how it ended.

You didn't have many expectations for the relationship, it was something your past relationships had taught you. If you don't have any expectations, you won't be disappointed. You did however, have one condition, which you told him that same night when both of you were reading by the fire.

"Promise me that you'll remember me with all of the nice memories we make together." Kit was half asleep when you suddenly spoke up, interrupting the lulling silence. "What do you mean?" It hit you like a train in that exact second. This wasn't just some scenario in your had that you could replay over and over, where you could change what you said just as fast as you would change your mind. This was reality, and Kit had heard what you said, which meant that you'd have to explain what you meant.

"I mean that if this ever stops, promise me that in your wildest dreams, you'll see me again." The look on his face was unreadable and in that moment, you would've given everything you had to be able to read his mind. The silence was broken yet another time when Kit spoke up, while nodding slowly: "I promise."

And that was the day that changed it all.

The following days weren't better though, because his hands could be found tracing patterns in your hair and he'd spend most of his time with you. The sound of his voice brought a sense of familiarity, like when you'd here a lullaby your mother sung to you when you were younger. A song you hadn't heard in a long time, but you knew all the words nonetheless. This was exactly how it was when you were almost asleep, which you use as your excuse for what you said. "No one has to know what we do."

"I know, love. I know." That was all he said. Or all that you heard him say, because you could feel the urge to sleep overcoming you, passing out in your bed with Kit by your side.

Now you wish to look back on those days, when you spend your days as well as your nights with him and when just being together with no label was enough for the both of you. But these memories have to remain at the lakes, where you made them in the first place.

Now you were back in the city, back to seeing each other far less, back to hoping it could just end while the prospect of an ending hurts worse than not seeing each other. It was a quiet night, almost like you were back at the lakes, with Kit's hand resting on your leg, talking about his newest project.

"-And I'm actually really excited to play this character." He smiles and you can't stop yourself from pecking his lips. "I'm so excited for you! I bet you'll do amazing." Your words of reassurance are met with shy smile from him, making you wonder what he might be hiding.

"About that" You raise an eyebrow, a wordless invitation for him to continue speaking. "I talked to the directors and if you ever want to visit the set, they'd be really happy to meet you." A smile spreads across your face, already wanting to accept his idea.

When suddenly: "I don't think I can come. I mean, who knows who'll see us and there could be paparazzi." You're quick to stop speaking when one of Kit's hands takes yours, drawing circles across your skin. "Well, I was thinking", breathing is almost impossible as you hear the tone in his voice, "maybe we don't have to hide anymore. I mean, we've been seeing each other for months now." 7 months and 13 days to be exact, but who's counting?

"I love you, and if you feel the same way, I'd be ready to let the world know that I do." For an actor his face was almost expressionless, making you want to stare at him and figure everything about him out, but you decide that if you don't speak now, you might never get the chance to confess to him ever again.

"I love you too."
