Heart stopper (literally) [part 2]

Warnings: a bit cliché, I'd say it's boring but idk

It had become somewhat of a tradition to meet Kit on the train to London every month or so. I always saved a spot for him, the first few times it was the seat opposite of me, now it was the seat directly next to mine.

Today, was a rather cold day, even for winter this was unusual. I made my way to the seat I normally occupied on the train, sitting down and taking out a book I was supposed to read for school.

I quietly take some notes while reading, not really paying attention when I get snapped out of my trance by a familiar voice. "Not reading Heartstopper this time, huh?" Kit asks, sitting down next to me.

"Nope, it's school stuff, but I think I gave up." I smile at him, packing my books back in. "Now Mr. Superstar, back in London to film another episode?" He laughs as I turn to face him, nodding his head. "Visiting your mum again?" Nodding my head, I start another sentence engulfing the both of us in a long lasting conversation.

The train stops and it's almost my time to get off, so I prepare my stuff, smiling sadly at Kit. "I gotta get off." He nods his head and before I can leave the seat he speaks up. "Do you wanna do something this weekend? My friends really wanna meet you after all I've told them about you." The question rolls of his breath easily, still I can tell that it had been somewhat on his mind.

"Yeah, why not?" I simply ask, getting of the train. As I make my way to my mum's car, I think of what his friends would think of me. It was strange for me to do so, because Kit and I were simply friends and surely his friends would like me.

The weekend seemed to take all eternity to finally arrive while coming too fast at the same time. I was getting ready to leave, putting on a jacket over my clothes when my phone vibrated against my clothes.

Kit: Are you coming?

I type as fast as possible while putting on my shoes, sending "hit" as I leave my home.

Y/n: Just left the house :)

I quickly walk to where I'm supposed to meet Kit and his friends, luckily on time. The small café is almost empty, something I didn't quite expect from Kit and his friends.

When I enter it, the warm air hits my face and I look around to see wether Kit is already here or not. Luckily, or not, depending on who you ask, they are already here so I just wave and try walking over there without embarrassing myself.

Kit smiles at me and I can feel the fluttery sensation building up in my stomach. I let myself rest in the spot beside him, smiling at everyone there. "Hi, I'm Yasmine. We've heard a lot about you." She smiles and I smile back at her, opening my mouth to greet back.

"I'm Y/n and thank you all for inviting me." After that, the conversation seems to flow rather easily, me and his friends somewhat joking about Kit, talking about Heartstopper and much more.

The day comes to an end, almost all of his friends having left by now. It was just me, Kit and Joe as of now. "Hey, I gotta leave. Are you two staying?" Joe asks, standing up from his seat and gathering his things.

Kit nods his head, and as Joe is about to leave, he hugs me quickly, whispering into my ear, "He likes you a lot." I feel the heat rise to my face as Joe leaves, Kit and I now alone at the table.

"I hope you like them." Kit awkwardly laughs, looking at me. "They are great, I'm glad you introduced me to them." It's silent just a bit too long, making the both of us feel uncomfortable.

"Listen, I wasn't going to tell you but I just gotta get this off of my chest like right now." I look at him questioning what he was about to tell me.

"I get that this is way too soon, but you give me that feeling of warmth and safety and I really really like you and I don't think I like you in a friendship way." He rants as I stare at him, taken aback by his words.

"I like you too." It's the only sentence that I could possibly form, smiling at him in return.
