With the last three maps being the worst the zombies community has ever seen bo2 was losing hope. People were leaving and beginning to think that bo2 wasn't worth it everyone was cautious and scared when mob of the dead was released and when it released on April 13th 2013 we were scared thinking that this map would be like the past 3 but little did we know we have just discovered a master piece. We are given 4 new characters that we understand immediately by the intro that plays when you first load up the map. Finn o Leary, weasel Arlington, sal deluca, and billy handsome also known as the mobsters. The map gives us a new enemy known as Brutus the warden that is capable of completely breaking down barriers and locking down perks, the box and the pack machine which cost 2000 points to unlock. The map also brings a system known as the afterlife which you can down yourself with red boxes around the map and put yourself in a spirit mode which can be used to unlock certain things in the map like perks and parts to get to the pack machine. The afterlife system replaces quick revive in it's entirety. Phd flopper and mule kick can be seen on the map but cannot be obtained. The map also introduces a new perk which would be used in future maps. Electric cherry which cost 2000 points points. Whenever you reload zombies close to you will get electrocuted and if you down with it the spread and damage of the electricity is wider. The map gives us 2 new wonder weapons (technically 3). The blundergat and the hells retriever. The blundergat is a shotgun like wonder weapon that can be upgraded and turned into the acid gat when you make the acid gat buildable. It then can be pack a punched. The hells retriever can be obtained when you feed 3 hellhound like creatures 6 zombies each around the map. It can be used to kill zombies and grab power ups. It can be upgraded to make the hells redeemer. The way to get to the pack a punch is you have to find 5 pieces to a plane where you can build it on the roof. When you have all 5 pieces and build the plane you take flight and crash on the Golden Gate Bridge where the pack a punch is. A Brutus will spawn and another Brutus will be added for every round that passes for example if you spend two rounds on the bridge two Brutus will spawn if you spend 3 rounds 3 Brutus will spawn so on and so forth. The only way to get back to the prison is to go into electric chairs that are on the bridge. The Story and Easter egg is that these 4 survivors planned to make a plane and fly away from Alcatraz which was made by weasel on the Fourth of July however the other three gangsters realized how dumb the plan actually was and when they all four got to the roof they ganged up and stabbed weasel to death leaving him to bleed out on the roof. The three gangsters were put on death row and died in electric chairs now all 4 of them are stuck in an endless cycle. The Easter egg is to have weasel kill the other 3 gangsters on the bridge to break the cycle. The map also has its own grief mode with instead of being CDC and cia agents it's prisoners vs cops. Phd and mule kick are obtainable on grief. This map brought so much new to the game and it was executed beautifully. Giving us amazing wonder weapons, An amazing cast of characters and a beautiful map. If I were to rate this map it would be a 10 out of 10 or on a tier list it would be a double S tier map and this marks the beginning of the golden age of zombies. The next map is considered the best victus map and the last map lee Ross made.
